-------------------------------------------------------------------

Even if we count in the existing cars Nissan has to offer, there are still seven more cars to come. And I am just wondering which all are they talking about! We just heard about the Micra. What else?

Five will be locally made. So..
1. Micra is confirmed. Micra sedan?
2. Tiida? Tiida Sedan?
3. Sentra?
4. Altima?
5. Qashqai or Murano?

Others must be high end imports like 370 or GT-R.

-------------
Mods: I did search for existing threads, but they were Micra specific.

I read that Nissan hatchback will be launch with 5 variants, including Petrol and Diesel. One source here Nissan Micra to Drive Into Indian Roads Early 2010 ~ Auto News India, Automobile Industry News, Automotive News India - Autoblogs.in

Any general views or beliefs about Nissan's build quality and reliability? I looked at X Trail a couple of weeks ago, the features are solid, but I found the plastics to be flimsy and cheap.

Cheers,

Generally solid cars

Nissan makes generally solid cars. A friend had the Nissan Altima that I used to drive quite frequently in the States. Well built, powerful car interiors were a bit dull almost on par with Honda and Toyota but Nissan had a few more issues maintainence wise.

Good if true,

Seems to be a pipe dream if they are planning for all this.

A small car and a mid segment car is what they need to introduce first if they are to manage any decent numbers.

In US all car will have strong build and quality due to the regulations. But in India there is no regulations and its up to the company to give a good quality car.lets hope that Nissan won't let us down like other players.

Nissan should ramp up their service first. Even after five years, they have only five or six dealers. I think Nissan is still doing R & D about the Indian Market.

No plans for cars like Sentra? I was also expecting the Teana (known as Altima / Maxima elsewhere) to be locally manufactured to make it a contender against the Accords and Camrys of the world. That sure is a letdown. I guess Nissan is satisfied with the minuscule sale for Teana!.

New March, IMO looks plain. The Tiida is a stunner though! Should sell well. Tiida is of the size of Versa, Sentra, if launch should take on Cruize, Civic and Corolla. Nissan should forget about mass selling those imported units here.

Teana is actually Maxima in Australia etc, Altima in US. Its another story that Nissan killed it by importing and pricing it out of contention!

Nissan Micra, based on V platform, will help in reduction of components used in it thereby reducing the overall weight of the car and increasing fuel efficiency.
