Wow .. never anticipated this discussion would rival an india-pakistan cricket match !

However, lovely to see such passion. Guess this is what truly drives T-BHP.

Fiat, I think is slowly trying to make a difference. They keep calling and following up to give me a test drive. Seems they are more interested in selling nowadays.

Could you share your experiences on another facet .. ingress and egress ?
In which car is it easier for tall people ?

Hey, I have nothing against Fiat or the Petra. You won't find any negative comments from me, on that front. I respect the products.

I too like Petra/Palio. In fact I almost bought it, many here know about my decision process. I finally decided against Petra because of bad A.S.S in Bangalore and Baleno's incredible low-end torque for city driving pleasure. Besides, I am moving out of Bangalore next year and Fiat has only two dealers in whole of Karnataka. I am not driving 400Kms for service.

I feel that Petra wins here. Took a test drive with my family. My parents found it more comfortable to get in and out of Petra. And ofcourse the tank like built gave a strong sense of safety.

V1p3r and Samurai, my comments were not meant for any one of you. In fact, you were the ones making more reasonable comments.

I recently visited Indiacar messageboard and saw some primary school-children style fights. I was hoping that, on T-BHP, this discussion would not head the same way, but some of the posts were definitely not very tasteful.

Awesome. Discussions involving Fiat are always awesome.

For the record, I am a Petra owner. I chose it over the Baleno because it was more VFM for me - here in Mumbai. I have nothing against the Baleno - my case is the reverse of Samurais - and I hope other Fiat owners dont have any issue with it either. It is a nice car. But so is the Petra. What was supposed to be a very academic discussion has degenerated into a my car is better than your car kind of tirade.

I dont think we will gain anything more from this discussion. Lets lock it ... mods please?

That was not so funny ... kind of sad actually I also visisted the indiacar forum. What a load of crap! People over there (and here) require a chill pill. Maybe even I do.
I think if you put this poll on the road, most people will just say 'Petra? What Petra?' The Baleno will win hands down in a poll. I am just getting tired of these kind of discussions.

Have you been in a Palio GTX at high speeds. Or cornered in one? Then you would know what I'm talking about. Just because I own a Baleno doesn't mean all its rivals are bad.

The poll now stands 50-50 (35 votes each) while I am posting this. Perfect time to lock this thread, mods?

I hope you were just kidding, Mr. Dragon, because I doubt if Mr. Samurai will join you in such war BTW, if my memory is not failing me, are you not the one, who was about to go to Calcutta to buy a Petra?
