Honda now got the first set back in their portfolio. If we see the sales of City it seems prospective Jazz customers are being converted to City.
With Jazz what Honda managed is to sky rocket the sales of i20 the hatch once seemed to be expensive suddenly became VFM!!!

It is sad to see punto sales going down,Fiat listening market screaming for VGT to be plonked under puntos hood.
Fiesta sales can be attributed to the limited edition cum lesser price.

This may sound strange, but I have never seen a taxi Scorpio or Xylo. Ever.

True. Most of taxi companies have Innova. In a way ironic - few years back when Qualis was discontinued, I heard that decision was taken because it primarily became a "Taxi" vehicle & Toyota did not want that image. I don't know what is the level of truth in that as it was just kinda rumor mills that time

Honda should be aware of Fusion case. Why let history repeat? Unless they do something about it looks like Jazz will go the Fusion way. Looking at i20 numbers I feel Honda should be really tempted to drop the prices. i20 is having a ball with only competition being Fiat which is in the mode of resurrection. Strictly speaking, not much competition.

Its a setback for Honda but they can turn it around. If they can drop the price by 1 - 1.5Lakh, they can achieve good numbers. It takes certain boldness to drop the price by such a margin. They can probably compensate current customers by ways of comprehensive extended warranty or give free insurance for couple of years or some freebies or cashbacks.

You forgot the main point my friend- Diesel. Aveo could easily do better with a diesel under its hood. Aveo needs next gen model, equally good interiors as present model, diesel, Non Limited editions, Limited Price ( I Meant no price cuts)

Discounts offered in Fabia around Rs.57,000 could be the major reason.

Karan, i would agree with you normally - but i in this case, i feel Aveo is beyond salvation. Take Palio & Optra for example - once they were a dud in the market diesel could not really help much. And GMs current image wont help much.

Whatever it is, I heard there is surely a diesel Aveo on the card with the facelifted Aveo. Anyway, its just time that can answer.

Another reason for I20's success is it's availability in smaller towns. Places where Honda and Skoda don't have dealers. Hyundai may not have Maruti's vast dealer network, but they too have a good presence in smaller cities.

It too have this doubt. All of a sudden both the dealers in Chennai have started calling me to take a look at the facelifted version. I had taken a test drive of ANHC atleast 4-5 months before, and suddenly they seem to have become more customer oriented

Suddenly, in our office parking lot, i20s have sprung up from no where. Even faster than i10s did.

Great analysis folks.

End of the Palio era???. Are you confusing 2002-03 with 2009.
