Toyota’s new MUV for India???

I was in Nandhi hills (Bangalore) with my colleagues yesterday. There came a convoy of this new MUV, a Xylo & an Innova.

Toyota Picnic or Toyota Ipsum or Avensis Verso from Europe.

Toyota - Picnic

Interesting car to be testing here.

@nevertouchme: Nice pics. Good looking vehicle. The front and side profile resembles innova (or is it just me??). But with a convoy of xylo and innova??? Was there some comparison going on??

This from what I am guessing will be the replacement to the Innova or the family sedan competition in the market, it is known as the Toyota Sienna in the US, so lets see what will be Toyota's strategy for India.

wow! This looks very much like innova. If this is the new and upcoming model of Innova, that will be awesome. Auto Transmission with dvd/sat-nav(hopefully). That will simply rock!!!

The fact that they have taped stuff all over means it is not just another import in Bangalore. Unless I am missing something, this would be a great scoop and you should watermark these pictures.

Memo, the Sienna is much larger than this I think. The Sienna is based in the Camry platform whereas this is a bit smaller based on the Avensis platform in UK.

hmm.. if this was imported by an individual, they wouldn't bother covering all the logos and it's unlikely the car would be on the red TC plates.

I doubt there is a market for a car like this, and my guess is they are testing components for future models in a car they'll never bring.

great pics!

cheers

Why do you think so ? If it is similar to Innova in terms of space with the added goodies like auto transmission and sat-nav etc, it should sell really well.

Test Vehicles of Toyota are usually Bidadi Registered(Ka-43 or something). This is Ka-05, Bangalore-Jayanagar registered.. Interesting..

It's definitely not Sienna. Sienna is much bigger and classy than the one pictured. I live in the US and haven't seen this vehicle here. This may be European or south-east asian model being tested on Indian roads. But I don't understand why Toyota wants to bring in an other model while Innova is such a huge success and selling pretty well.
