i remember my incident at kasliwal hyundai in indore. i had gone to look at i20.
when i asked about why does hyundai not offer extended warranty for i20 crdi, he told me "sir, hyundai is so confident of the engine that you dont need warranty"
i told him that means that hyundai is not confident about any other engine in all their cars that they have to offer extended warranties on them.
later during TD i asked him , this car does not have Average fuel consumption display, he told me "ye car 18 ka averahe degi hi, jab pata hi hai ki 18 ka average hai to display ka kya fayda" . i wanted to telll him, jab mujhe pata hi hai ki aaj kya date hai to fir display pe kyun diya hai?

On the other hand, during Jazz TD, i asked the sales guy about the type of engine oil used, he honestly told me sir , i am not sure about that, wil have to check up with the service department.I really liked his honesty.

The americans pronounce it as 'Haan-day'.. I say be a Roman in Roame

SM: its a safety device sir.

Friend: how?

SM: If your car breaks down in a express highway & you open the driver door to access the bonnet release, a speeding car can hit you on the driver's side. so, the passenger side is safer!!!!!!

Me: Even before buying the car, he is talking about break downs!

Friend: Why doesnt the top end variant come with power windows at the rear?

SM: again a safety feature sir. if the power windows stops functioning, you can roll down your rear windows manually!

Me: are all fords built for only breakdowns or defects?
I think he answered honestly. Any car prone to break down, so what a big deal.

what a justification! is ford planning to do same in all its future models! Have manual windows assistance during break down

does this mean that ikon TDCI which comes with all 4 power window hasnt got this "manual window" safety feature

When I bought my Civic a few years ago, the sales person was enthusiastically mouthing off the features.

'Sir, this car has apposing weepers' While I was envisioning two bawling brats in a face off, I realized she was talking about the wipers!

I'd read about some showroom in Mumbai offering Mugen kits etc. so I asked her if they stocked any performance parts

She: Sir, we will do teflon coating
Me: I'm not asking for freebies, I mean performance parts like Mugen
She: hehehe, we will give you floor mats

I was floored!

Bloopers from the sales manager at Hanuman motors, Tata dealers for Udupi.

1.Quadrajet and Multijet are two different engines
2.Dzire Zdi retails for 9.5 lacs on road
3. Fiat has stopped supplying diesel engines for Maruti, the new diesel for Maruti is the K series which is jointly developed by Suzuki, GM and Opel
4. New "Aria" going to be released soon, powered by Rover engine.

I could not take more, so quietly excused myself from him.

I'd be very happy to see a new Rover engine! I really liked that company ---when it still existed!

Hanuman motors is in Chitpady. When you come from Mangalore, you have to turn right at the Usha hotel/taluk office circle. It is run by Hanuman transport company(H T Co ltd).

Logan TD

Happened to Td a Logan at India Garage , chennai..

I was testing the Petrol version , asked the rep about the loud engine noise..

"Diesel enginela sound excessa varum saar"

Diesel engines make more noise...

I dropped the idea of even testing the Diesel Logannn

@ajay2233 Well what he says is factually correct, these test drive cars by now should have crossed mid-life.
