The Linea T Jet, Honda City and the VW Vento mean that C segment buyers have some really good options at hand (performance wise). The Linea IMO will have to significantly up its fit / finish quality to compete head on with the other two to its potential. I just hope all these models have capable A/T transmissions on offer as well. That will really round off the offering very nicely.

So it's 6th July finally. Anybody has updates on this launch? VW won't be doing it so silently. I am still apprehensive about the date though.

Check this the site says that Vento will be launched by today(06.07.2010) at Delhi. The event is held at ‘The Park’ hotel, Delhi from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm.

The Vento Looks brilliant, not like the "stuck on boot" of the dezire. The 1.6L engine sounds promising, the 250nm torque sounds mouth watering.

So we will finally have a midsized diesel performer. Waiting with bated breath !! C'mon VW, bring it on.

Hope the tyres don't disappoint.

spoke to the saleshead at the vw dealer elite motors in bangalore. VW is launching the Vento in only 1 variant in both the petrol and diesel - the top end one. Pricing has not yet been confirmed - he told me that by early next week, he will have the exact pricing for Bangalore.

Looks like the broadcast is on now.. started some half an hour ago. But then again there is no audio and people seem to be walking around preparing for something, I guess they started the live streaming video before the actual launch without the audio

Hoping for a good package at a reasonable price.

As per VW Dealer, today they will unveil the car.
Probably pricing would be also announced.

Launch and booking will start only in August.

I think I saw a white one on July 4th evening in Hyderabad on Banjara Hills Rd No 12 - Car with a VW Polo front and with a boot. VW dealership is nearby about 1-2 km from here. Was on the opposite side and could not take a photo. Did any one else see this?
