Like getting on a plane, either be first in the queue, or else sit back and relax until everybody else is on.

I'm sitting back and relaxing on the Polo/Vento issue.

If this delivery stuff doesn't sort itself out in a few months, I guess I'll take a different flight!

Dealers say that they are taking Rs. 50000 in the form of post dated cheques to block our name. Is this a legitimate way of booking? Dealer says that he has about 5-6 customers who have paid and I would be the 6th or 7th customer in queue.

One more query. I am very fond of pepper grey colour. Is it not available in Vento? Dealer says that Polo colours and Vento colours are different except for Red, White and Black. Is this true? What are the colours of Vento?

Sorry for many questions. Please help.

That sounds strange, In our showroom we have are taking official booking in the name of Vento only and also giving a receipt for the payment received.

Yes Pepper grey is not available.

I am interested to go for a VW Vento but not able to take a final decision since I do not know the price or launch date. My budget is also capped at 10 lac. Checked with Bhasin moters and they are not revealing anything except taking my mobile number to intimate me. Sent a mail to World class auto (found from VW website Dealer Locator) and no respnse. Somehow I feel they are overconfident of their venture.

Slightly undecided on the options from ANHC, Fiat Linea, Cedia, and VW Vento. Altis is above my tight budget.
I know it's too early to decide on the car. But, you can always book Vento by paying some advance. This is just for priority basis. You can always cancel your booking and refund the money. That's why I booked my car.

For this price range, you can also check Cruze (base model), Altis (need to stretch a bit). But Vento would be the ideal choice since you can go in for the top model. Lot many features also included in this.

@srikant - Is there an AMC package going to be available for the Vento? If so, what will it include and what would be it's price?
Does VW offer AMC package on the Polo ?

Thanks Naveen
The dealers in Delhi are not accepting booking for Vento saying the price is not declared. Even the Bhasin guy told me its booking date as September or he will intimate me as and when they have the clarity.
These guys are not very friendly. It appears they feel a 8-10 lac car is within the reach of everyone and they will sell like hot cakes. Even the best cars do not sell due to the service, reach and maintenance.

I am keen to go for highline Diesel model if it comes within my budget (on road).

Cruz LT (base) comes to 11.52 Ex-show room (See the web-shot below). I was exploring Toyota Etios too ( in addition to ANHC, Linea, Cedia & Vento) but their website toyotaetios.in does not say the details. Altis & Cruz are not coming in my budget.

Let me see if VENTO comes on 14th.

Hyped for sure... but except their subsidiary Skoda (in India) not earning a good name, both VW and Audi have good reputation to prove upto expectations. Going by the global trend Asian automakers like Honda, Toyota, Suzuki, Hyundai are going to rule due to their very unique positioning and value for money. My only worry on VW-Vento is the western players (American/Europian) are not very competitive off late.

Ahhh, those coat hooks so vital for hanging the suit jacket of the European company-car driver!*

As to the roof handles: does anyone use them? ever? I don't think I ever have. Good candidate for cost saving.

Thanks, rangaraj, for posting the mail. Interesting.

*I used to keep mine on, and get it creased. Or chuck it on the back seat, where it got creased.
