Well, although I expected Swift to win this poll, it was the Baleno that pulled in at the last moment to win it. In fact it should have been 18 votes since one more member skumarit bought his black Baleno on Friday, but he didn't vote in the poll because he is travelling on his new ride since then.

I think its obvious Swift didnt win this poll due to the delays in delivery. A lot of freinds of mine that I know who were tired of waiting for Swift went ahead with Getz. So I think somehwhere in the 8 people who voted for Getz a lot of them were prespective Swift buyers. A freind K_Ajay on this forum, bought an Indica as he was tired of waiting for Swift.

While casually going through the list, I am surprised to see Vivek.singh.73 voting for Fiat Adventure Sports. AFAIK, he was going for Indiga Marina.

Is there any time restriction for this poll. If not, Iam sure Baleno would got beaten by Swift. (or even by getz, who knows)

Agree with that. Actually skumarit has a Swift booking which won't deliver until November. Meanwhile he bought a Baleno as his big car.

He voted before taking delivery, then Fiat didn't deliver the car. Then he switched to Marina, this poll doesn't let members change their vote.

I don't think Getz had any chance of beating Baleno. Regarding Swift, the huge demand is mainly because of the novelty factor. The same way how Palio or Innova sold big on debut. We need to see how it sells after a year from debut. Look at NHC, it launched around the same time as Baleno Lxi, had many months of backlog and now in the second year, it has run out of steam, at least in this forum.

I restricted the poll to just one month to capture the current trend since 2005, I didn't want to keep the poll open forever or end of this year and destroy the purpose.

Dont think he had booked it, so can't say that Fiat didn't deliver the car. He was still trying to assess the cars and changed his mind before booking.

Take this lighter. Just a weird thought of all the Swift prospects moving to Getz because of delivery issues.

I don't think Swift will struggle like PALIO, because of the banner behind it & no.of cars on the road which itself a crowd puller even if we forget about the pricing and the performance.

well, i couldnt vote here as i didnt see this on time, but for me the purchase in 2005 have been a Hyundai Getz in March, and the Hyundai Tucson in July. both doing just superb!

the Getz has crossed around 6,000 kms, its with mom, so gets driven less.
the Tucson which is with me, has crossed 3,500km so far.

both vehicles jus lovely! Hyundai is really capturing the market now! its Elantra sales have also increased by lot, now on.!
