I still somehow will take this news with a pinch of salt as lot of info is coming out of various avatars of Linea/GP. I'll only believe it when I see it.

So,if the T-jet comes, will there be a reduction in the price of the Fire 1.4?

Any hopes of at least the !.3 MJD VGT (linea engine spec) getting into the Punto?

Hurray I have waited

Hurray I have waited calmly looking all the Linea threads, and dreaming and now its time for reality let me get finances right . Thanks Fiat ( Oneadvise though) .. If not in all place can you open exclusive FIAT service outlets in major cities atleast and these should be state of the art .So that who ever cannot reach will atleast have the confidence that FIAT is there with end to end suppor in the nearest city .

Thanks Prashant.

Me too. Still it will be great if it does as predicted. Will do a world of good for linea and fiat brands. Can see some real sweat from Honda then.

Autocarcr, let your words be true.

Wowww..!! It's really a great news for hard core Fiat fans like me .The1.4 T-Jet will surely put the Linea sales chart on fire..!Once the Linea 1.4 T-Jet hit the Indian roads,I will be able to see my friends(who have severely criticized Fiat cars) banging and scratching their heads to find out some reason to complain and underrate this car.But I'm so sure that they will find absolutely nothing to complain this Italian Master Piece.

I'm waiting for the launch day of Fiat Linea 14.4 T-Jet .Meanwhile I'm disappointed to hear that there are no plans for 1.6 MJD or 1.9 MJD

Let's wait and see what Honda and Maruti guys will do to compete against Linea 1.4 T-Jet

wow, great news!

Car-for-car .. Linea TJet would outshine the ANHC in every department.
However, the intangibles still remain in favor of Honda (brand value, resale value, long-term reliability etc etc).

Let's hope the market embraces it properly and not simply drop it to choose ANHC (if a Honda & a Fiat are similarly priced ... I think there will be a tendency to choose Honda only).

This is indeed a great news for Fiat lovers and others who think 1.4 fire is not their cup of tea.
Can T jet be fitted on current 1,4 fire engine if someone wants to and if yes how much it will cost ?
What is Hill Holder ?

Hill Holder- will prevent the car from rolling down the hill at fast pace if the driver forgets to put his handbrake on the slope. It will also control rate of free-falling descent (as in basement car parks in Malls, etc.)

I do not think you can change the heart of the 1.4 FIRE Linea (drat!!), however if resale values do go up you may be able to smile....

This is sweet if this happens in Jan 2010. The Linea is a looker already, now with a mighty heart, I am sure it could do wonders.

Lets wait and watch, shall we?

I already feel crestfallen. Its like a new toy has been denied. I think this is a smart move by Fiat. TJet will put a stop to all the "Linea is underpowered" types blokes.I hope the in car navigation system will be on offer for us "Oldies" too.
