Re: Spotted : Nissan MPV (Nissan Evalia / NV200)

Saw this on the road this morning in Bangalore, between Mekhri circle and Cauvery Theatre. Looks pretty nice for a van. Didn't seem much wider than your average sedan. The people inside seemed quite happy even though we were all stuck in pretty bad traffic.
Oh and this one had a number "5" sticker on it, and was following a micra with an "E" (escort?) sticker. Don't know it this is related but a few days back I saw another micra with a "H" sticker on the wind screens and "demo car" all over the sides.
This should replace the Innova at all roles (taxi, fleet car, hotel car, etc) except probably personal use. Actually, it isn't all that bad for personal use either considering the top end Innova is what 16 lakhs now in Bangalore ??

We were part of the media drive organised by Nissan. The TBHP review should be out in a day or two.

Re: Spotted : Nissan MPV (Nissan Evalia / NV200)

This seems like a proper "Dumb & Dumber" type of a Van. Whole lot of purpose & excitability built into it. If it comfortably seats 7, is frugal & introductory prices are attractive, Indian consumers could be drawn towards it. Taxi-walas are a pucca.

Nissan should ideally plonk this between Micra & Sunny.

Re: Spotted : Nissan MPV (Nissan Evalia / NV200)

Is there going to be an official test drive of the Evalia? Today DNA has posted the test drive of the Evalia. So I am hoping there will be team-bhp report soon. The test drive report in DNA is of a diesel version I think.

Re: Spotted : Nissan MPV (Nissan Evalia / NV200)

The Evalia will be a very good option for Airport taxi's and big boot with folding rear seats. Could replace the Logans and the Indigos.

I do not think people would shun away from Evalia for private use. It comes with a good engine, decent interiors and equipment levels and definitely at a price lesser than Innova. A sliding door is a boon within city. It is a very practical car for a big family. With Ertiga's waiting period stretching into months, Evalia should be able to take away a few customers from Ertiga as well.

In the third pic, isnt the brake pedal a bit too forward ? is it just an illusion or is that how nissan designed it ?

Re: Spotted : Nissan MPV (Nissan Evalia / NV200)

My father saw an Evalia XV in Faridabad on Saturday. It was hard for him to recollect the name of the vehicle (he could recall only the white colour & XV badge), as he isn't a petrolhead as I am (well also because I have joined the forum). More so because he got the good glimpse of the rear end, he tried explaining how the rear looked like, & i guessed all the SUV/MUV names, until I showed him the picture, & then he was happy to confirm it, as if he had hit the bulls eye.

There is a Nissan dealer coming up in our city (& another one, Nath Nissan, is in Delhi on the Mathura Road), but, what is intriguing is the fact that how could these cars roam around without any masking. Does this means that private test drives have already begun?

Or it means that it is about to be launched and has reached the dealers ???

Yes, this is pretty apparent. But, this could be case of a new dealer trying to please/ reach out prospective customers.

This is also why we are seeing test drive reports by almost every auto mag/ site.

Nissan arranged Evalia Media Drive last week hence all AutoMag and AutoShows were loaded with Evalia. Launch (with price declaration) will happen in September.

I'm not sure wether TeamBHP was invited.
Mods any news? Possibility of official review?

Great review. Looks a hit from most departments - pricing obviously has to be seen. It obviously needs to be priced such that the on-road for the top end comes to around 12L.

Only worried that the Indian market may not like the fact that the second row window cannot be rolled down due to the butterfly design.
