I wish,

2010 Tata Manza

- an estate version (like the marina) so that I could have carried more stuff with easy accessibility

- rear cargo cover or parcel shelf (expensive aftermarket)
- Steering mounted controls (had this in the Manza)
- Factory tinted wondows ( can be done aftermarket)

Re: I wish my car had ….

I have recently bought an Aspire.

I wish the seats were just as comfortable as the test drive vehicle (titanium +). After getting the car, I realised that the contours were different in the lower models and not that comfortable.

I drive a 2014 Hyundai Verna SX CRDi

I'd wish for

1) better headlamps (a candle will illuminate the road better than this car's headlights)

2) cruise control

3) speed sensing auto door lock (after a scary yet hilarious incident)

Re: The cleverest & most innovative features you've seen in mainstream cars

Personally, I'd not even want rain sensing wipers, can live without that.

What I'd like to have in my next car are (prefer to have these out of the box with the car as manufacturer provided features):

1. Seat belt audible alert for front and rear passengers. Would be great to get everyone to comply and belt up, no need for explanations, arguments and negotiations!

2. Auto headlamps - can be useful in lowlight conditions when it switches on automatically.

3. Auto fog lamps - similar to auto headlamps, would be good to have auto fog lamps for both front and rear. I think this will prevent it from being used at wrong times and also prevent it from being unused!

4. Driver seat height adjustment - even if it's a mechanical adjuster this will be useful

5. Rear camera for Parking assistance, integrated with the infotainment LCD unit

*Nice to have would be auto-dimming IRVM and ORVMs

1. Projector led headlamps (My vento's halogens are not of no use)
2. TPMS
3. Automatic Wipers
4. Bucket.seats with lumber and back support (again vento's seats are really bad)
5. 6 air bags
6. Rear camera integrated in the Infotainment system
7. Automatic gear box and only DSG.

1. Auto headlamps
2. Auto wipers
3. Bucket seats
4. Auto folding ORVMs
5. Lights in ORVMs
6. Speed sensitive ICE volume
7. Driver seat hight adjustment
8. Push button start/stop & keyless entry
9. No white lights, no LEDs, just powerful headlights with good throw.

Well, all these features are there in my Fiesta, but if I were to replace it in future, I don't see any good option in the market today that can fulfill all these requirements. Especially there is no way to get seats with such good bolstering & support. Fiesta was the only car to get bucket seats (in Titanium variant only).

Re: The Must Have Features in Your Next Car

1 option that I really want to see in the cars in India is the Blind Spot monitoring and alerting.

Note from Mod: A more updated & recent discussion of the same topic can be found at this link (What are some features without which you won't buy a car?).
