The SUV Segment

The scorpio started racing ahead of the safari from April onwards... What could be the reason???

^^^ Ritz should be compared with i10 and not i20, Punto and Jazz. It will be interesting to know if i10 sales picked up as Ritz sales were coming down.

D-Segment

In the d segment

Altis is the leader, though civic was slightly ahead of teh altis till April... Guess people started to realize the benefits of the altis only after te "April Fools Day"!!

The cruze has outsold the mitsubushi's year to date sales in the month of its launch, and will probably catch up with optra's year to date sales by the next month - not a bad performance, but GM when will you spruce up the optra ??? There does seem to be no point in continuing to sell it, though you definitely have the mitsubushi cars for company!!

Well, I do not think that the I10 and the ritz should be compared in the same vien, they are definitely not in the same segment in my books.. however find the analysis of all the different sub segments (according to the way I understand them ) and also the i10 vs the ritz

Cheers!

The D+ Segment (or whatever you call it)

Well seems to be a cat and mouse game between the Accord and The Superb... Rest are just there!!

The accord is still quite ahead, thanks to its jan to april performance, and the dismail performance of the superb in the first four calendar months.

I vouch for this report that Vista is now the market leader in its segment. The number of Vista's on road in Bangalore has increase so much. I see almost 2-3 each day in different parts of Bangalore.

SUV + Segment

Look at the fortuner.. becoming the leader in the cumulative sales in the segment, in just three months of operations - heres one company, where interior quality of a sibling has not made that big a dent!!

The people mover segment

Well.. the innova is the leader here.. but Xylo's fast catching up. I wonder why do they still sell the Tavera?

Manza Vs Dzire??

The Indigo seems to have picked up quite a bit in Oct!, but I do not know if the figure represent only the indigo or also have the cs class in to them

The C Segment

And finally the C Segment..

Numero Uno is the Dzire,
Followed by the city, indigo, sx4!!! (all new?), Fiesta!!!,verna, ikon, linea, accent, ambassador...

Wow.. The accent manages to sell almost as much as the linea, and the ambassador is fast catching up! Way to go Fiat!

On a more sombre note, ikon is selling neck to neck with the linea. When both the companies have a reputation of poor service, wonder why the ikon sells so much inspite of fiat having a good 4 years warranty available! and well the amby has to sell 200 more to catch up with the linea

This shows that Fiat's reputation is still deterring people to come and book their cars. I really hope that current Fiat owners will do their best to improve fiat's image as in India, its still word of mouth which counts the most. My red punto is turning heads wherever I go and I'm doing my best I really hope sales improve as it'll be pretty sad to see such brilliant cars like the Linea and the Punto fail.

And finally

Sales across all segments for current month

Sales across all the segments year to date

Month wise sales (all segments)

Surprisingly, Sep was a better month in sales than Oct, inspite of Diwali!

WOW! That's some fantastic graphs out there an_and! Pictures are so much easier to understand than hard numbers. Thanks for sharing.

Would you like to join us in our monthly sale analysis exercises? Lets take it up via PM.
