No one can beat VW when it comes to innovative advertising. I was surprised to see the speaking device attached to VW vento ad in TOI today. A light sensitive device which starts talking good of Vento when ever you open the paper.

loved the talking VW vento ad.
A would say makes a sureshot impression. People would never forget the add. Esp the logic. It works only when the paper is vertical, which is how ppl will hold it when reading TOI.

Hats of to VW n TOI on a new high in advertising.

LoL! My wife and I took a whole 10 mins to figure out what it is after it was pointed by our maid Haven't seen such stuff for a long time.

This tells us a couple of things

1) VW is damn serious about the Indian market and the job done so far w.r.t advertising, marketing et al is just about perfect
2) Vento Diesel can be a run away success if the efforts on After sales continue to be anywhere close to the above.

VW is really going all out. Do check out today's Times of India advert, with the embedded audio device accompanying the full page insert! More fodder for the ANHC camp to crow how cheesy it is! Am kidding, am loving this. Bring it on!

Brilliant ad !
Now VW will ensure that people sit up and take notice. Our landlord actually thought that it could be a bomb and went running to the ACP who lives next door

I loved the idea of this audio device attached to the TOI this morning - its the first time I'm seeing something like this. Definitely shows they're taking this market seriously.

But that speaking device is a royal pain. Even after an hour of keeping it uncovered its still talking and irritating. I wonder how long this thing's battery will last. For the time being I have removed it and placed it upside down to stop it from talking. Also noticed that Pune has only dealer. I don't think its wise to buy it as yet and be at the mercy of that single monopolistic dealer.

yup... very well thought out. Makes it unique because of the device although its just another car add showcasing feature. Very innovative.

Btw, it stops talking if you put your had on it.

it has got sensor on front of it , so whenever there is something which covers up the "Hole" it stops and as soon as the object is removed it starts, really nice, but I think they should have gone with Hindi instead of English as people traveling in trains would be a walking recorders

I am sure that majority of the people would be confused as to how to make it stop hope to hear this recorder for few days at least till the battery runs out.

Man, just tap it once & it'll stop. Tap it again & it'll start.

Don't tell me you're gonna wait till the battery runs out
