How easily this attribute is achieved in India!

There are certainly hot models in the Golf range; some very hot indeed! Others are simply family hatchbacks.

But, perhaps you meant to say expensive hatch...

The Golf GTI is a hot hatch. The R is the hottest.

If they launch the Golf I hope its not CKD/CBU like the Beatle/Fiat 500 because that would make it ridiculously expensive. And if its manufactured in India, I hope they don't 'cheapen' it as they have done to the Polo by omitting key features or giving us underpowered engines.

It's hotter than a Swift! I won't argue that

Funny, spotted them doing exactly the same route today evening, both German registered LHDs, one grey and the other silverish.

Saw one yesterday evening opp. Sancheti hospital. The car had MH-14 temp regn. and was RHD!
There were two people, driver and co-passenger. I had a glimpse at the dashboard. It was black and had a upmarket music system. There was some German-written note above the glovebox.
So when do we see it in the showroom for sale?

Nice catch! This looks like a India spec car.Indian reg. plates,RHD,relatively higher profile tires and beefed up ground clearance.

So what do we have here? A Golf at 9-10 lakhs INR? Would make for an interesting buy, especially the diesel, but wonder if it'll find many takers.
I have driven my daughter's VW Golf Pacific Edition 2.0 TDI AT diesel in Melbourne. It had fantastic power, superb ride and handling and plenty of features including rain and light sensors, Follow me home, etc., but had only one lamp each for reversing and fog at the rear.
only one rear fog lamp is provided as per the specifications or the law of the country requirements.

in some european countries it should be on the left tail light, and in others its on the right tail light.

you cant have two fog lamps, otherwise it will make it look like brake lights!

and only one reverse lamp is enough for reversing the car!

I'm not seeing any Indian Reg plates, RHD or beefed up ground clearance! These pics barely show anything! =)

However, if the Polo is going up to 7 L, and the sedan will most definitely come in around 9-10, the Golf would get plenty of takers at 9-10, but that is NOT going to happen is it??

Let's be realistic, this is a Jetta without the boot. Subtract, what, 1-2 lakhs for that. What is the Jetta retailing at currently? Do the math.

This is old VW Golf. I have seen Golf with Left hand drive for testing in one of the Automotive companies. It is running in Europe for quite sometime. New to India.
