Marvelous work Dippy

You have covered each and everything from the show, seems like there is no need to visit personally. Thanks a lot..

excellent coverage Dippy, really looks like a showroom for majority of the stalls, waiting for delhi auto expo.

Has anyone clicked videos of 4x4 offroading from Mahindra ? do you need to pay to sit in those vehicles ? can one drive themself over the track ?

Excellent pics Dippy! I feel you covered the event very well.
Though the "preformance" part of the show was a little amiss.
I had hoped to see a ferrari in the fiat stall, a Mustang by ford, Golf GTI by VW and many more.

Also felt it is the need of time to have some performance upgrade stalls for the existing car owners and by that i dont just mean the air filters and exhausts
cheers!

You dont need to pay to sit for the ride but this its like you have to buy some merchandise from the stall next to the track and then you get to go for a ride. So I guess thats like paying for it

Good coverage of the show Dippy. I loved the Yellow Skoda, the Porshe 911, and Jaguar. The Toyota Landcruiser costs a crore rupees! It looks very similar to the Fortuner to me, though

Who are "these guys" ??

More info please!! This is definitely something that looks like it has potential (the fact that they are at the show + seem to have a plan on the wall etc).

As for "performance" show -- i think thats a fairly apt title. They do have a vrs, xkr, gallardo, GT-R, 911 etc... maybe we are just a little jaded and hence expect more and more performance!

It's going to be started by somebody called Pradeep Nair. He spoke of several of his accolades in racing/rallying, nationally & internationally. They have tied up with Bill Gywene Motorsport School, who have supposedly been responsible for guys like Richard Burns and someother famous guys, whose names I can't recall anymore. Prodrive is somehow involved with preparation of the cars.

They are going to start with a rally/dirt track and giving advanced driving lessons on the same. The cars are going to be running roll cages and conform to various FMSCI safety standards. Though they might not do a arrive-n-drive session rightaway as they have safety concerns.

Once the dirt track is ready, they will be building a tarmac track and a drag strip in the end. The drag strip is expected to be a total of 1 mile long. He expressed his concern for lack of adequate run off areas in the other events. Also, a karting track seems to be a part of the scheme of things also. It's situated off the Mumbai-Pune expressway, near Khopoli somewhere. Mr. Nair said that their office was situated on Carter Road, Bandra (W).

It seems like a well calculated and professional attempt by somebody involved with motorsports for many years. I guess Mumbai's prayers for a track have been answered, finally!

EDIT: For those going to the show just to see the JCB Dieselmax, like I did , its NOT there anymore.

Awesome!! Thanks for the info.

This is indeed great news! A ray of hope at a time where i'd settle for even a drop of possibility.

This thread seems to be talking about the same thing, but claims its "game over" involved? Perhaps you could chime in there before any misconceptions are formed...

I have met Mr Pradeep Nair before on a couple of occasions. The plan for the track has been in the pipeline for the past one year or so. Mr Nair has big plans and rest assured that this is going to be something to really look forward to. The arrive and drive thingy will also turn into reality sooner or later.

Its a Carrera S with the GT2 body kit. The car was for sale for nearly 6 months.

Pradeep has been planning this for years now (atleast 6 years if not less) and something or the other kept coming in the way. Now he has some of the hurdles taken care off and so it should not be long.

Dippy the coverage was excellent and the show a dissapointment. The GTR ok same one but the new modds on it make it a monster. Seen work being done on it and know the owner as well. Some more is in store for the car. The owner has the E 65 AMG as well that i was telling you about. The LP 560 did nothing to me but the colour scheeme for the XKR and the car itself did wonders. Thats the only car i spent time with and made the Expo worthwhile. I did see the coupe and the convertible at the launch of JLR but black with beige is far better than the silver with black. This car is definately on my to get list.

Excellent coverage of the Event Dippy

Jaguar XKR Convertible looks awesome and definately looks like the showstopper of the event along with Laura RS.Bit surprising that Audi didn't show any of its cars?
