IMHO, If a car is chauffer driven, going for superb makes more sense. But if you are a juvenile driving on city roads, BMW is THE car!

Now is it worth paying almost 8 lakhs more for the top end 320 with 6 Cd changer, bluetooth, USB etc? or for iDRIVE may be?

Who are you calling a juvenile?
Not me, not anyone regardless of age who loves to drive, rather than being driven!
Any why on city roads alone? A Bimmer is for all roads.
I agree that if rear seat comfort is important, which it is for most passengers in their thirties and beyond, this won't be for them. A 5 Series is the one for them, or an E Class.

Throw in Bi Xenon lamps, leather seats, and throw out those runflats and its ideal.

Good thing: Price cut took place at the cost of luxury features, not at the cost of safety features. Reduce the number of airbags and it would have sold even then. But they dint. We have to admit that they have done a good job at that. Great going. Sales would take a major jump forward. Even with 32L price tag, I see a LOOOOOOT of BMWs in my town these days.

Yeah it is the same isn't it? And I thought that this new price is only for fleet bookings.

Driver's car. The Xenon's should have been standard. 8Lakh + savings on insurance and RT is not just "something". I hope the warranty clauses are the same as that of the Highline.

I think they should have removed Run Flat's and Auto transmission perhaps then they could price it at 19.99L Ex showroom?

And a manual 320 would be all I need to have my fun. Don't care about any of the features missing.

I would totally go for something like this. And take it to Stanley, get the leather done, thats IT.

Edit : If this has seat airbags, then out goes the option of aftermarket leather I guess?

Edit 2 : Just saw THIS in the next post...

I checked out the car today at the BMW dealership in Chennai.

No iDrive
Halogen headlamps (instead of Xenons)
Singe CD player (in-dash)
Manual seats, with electric lumbar support
No Sunroof

It does have leather seats and the 6 speed AT Gearbox.
All the other safety features remain unchanged.

For an on-road price of Rs. 25.95 lacs Chennai, I think it's a great move by BMW.

Exactly. Hope the warranty hold for any BMW. This is one thing Audi is brilliant about.

Thats excellent price IMHO. Thanks to god and goddess of us petrolheads, more of us can afford one.

Fun with safety package and some luxury at right price.

I assume they kept leather standard because it would in real terms cost them more to get new fabric seats made?

LoL...just when I had decided on the C, I hear about the 320d at this ridiculous price and that in Jan the C will be out with the 200hp turbocharged 1.8 engine! Maybe Benz will price the upcoming C250 CGI more competitively now...here's wishing!
