What is the vehicle in the gif image ... doing with an airbag behind. This vehicle is another example of no frontal safety .. all reply to my topic which told me not to buy the omni should start on this vehicle too i guess.

Anyway, I should first congratulate and wish TATA motors all the best for bring us a concept like this. Hope they come out with a Car that costs around 1.25 lakhs odd only. Reva was supposed to come at that cost, but then goverment did not subsidise it as much as required and it came out with a cst of 2 lakhs. Hpe this small car dream does not end up in the same terms.

Also the main thing being, build quality. Hpe TATA does not go back decades where their door panels could be used as post boxes. Fit and finish will be an area to be address. With use of fibre I guess they will try and cut the the weight of the vehicle too.

Lets wait and see, hope to see a sneak preview too of their car!!

All right the wars hotting up - Honda is coming with a 1.5L car in 2009. how ? why ? dont ask me - I got the news from a fairly reliable source. have to dig deeper now.

Tata one lakh car will be launched around Jan 2008 and engine size would be 550-700cc.
The size would be similar to Alto and ex-factory price will be close to 1L.
Source : Newspapers of yesterday and today. Tata made some announcements regarding engine size and all. Sources from the company said that now they are looking at an engine which is closer in capacity to around 800cc.
they are also talking to GE for plastic panels etc., for the body.

A few inputs on how this car is gonna look like...

Its got a front which looks a little like the Matiz, a rear which looks like the current VW Beetle's and its a rear engine. Its also got a rear engine.

The car in all likelihood will come out in some bright colors.
