It is. The cars were listed in order of preference. Each one having its own pros and cons.

Cheers!

The best car here has to be the Jetta. I am impressed by its German build and stability. It is a quality product. Looks nice too.
However, my favourite car is the Cruze. The looks and power (VCDI) combination are unmatched. If you can keep it in the powerband, it blows the Jetta away.

Laura: Sheer Driving Pleasure (Petrol) (My Favourite, but I wont buy it until the after-sales improves)

Altis: Reliability, Suited to our hostile conditions.

Jetta: Underpowered (Petrol) (lack of brand recognition)

Civic: Overrated, nice interior (The best actually)

Cruze: personally I don't prefer diesels. (Read my signature)

Then in that case i hope you chose the Laura since since @$$ is not taken into consideration in this poll.

Based on equipment and BHP per Rupee, I'll vote for Cruze

Corolla Altis : Complete VFM, Best FE, Best All around package. Plain Jane looks and boring looking interiors with fake wood. ewww! boring to drive engine (I guess 2ZZ may match civic's performance). Thumbs Up to the suspension. Best A.S.S i've ever come accross. Cheapest Spares.

Civic : Overpriced, Not VFM, Low GC and Low FE but Great Futuristic looks (including interiors) and high-revving peppy engine. Driving Enthusiasts Car (Best car for replacing my ikon [b'coz of engine]). High Headed A.S.S. IInd Cheapest Spares.

Skoda Laura (Petrol) : Great Build Quality, VFM too. Good looking interiors. FE is not the best. Good Looks. Failing Electricals. Failing Parts. Worst A.S.S in India. Horror Stories reg. Spares & failing parts. Most Expensive spares. Would never ever go for a Skoda.

VolksWagen Jetta Petrol : Best german build quality. Interiors look good too. Average FE. VW has not a wide A.S.S network. Most expesive spares as it shares some spares wid skoda laura.

Chevy's Cruze : Haven't test driven but from review's it looks as a great package.

Leaving out the *** aspect, i think Skoda Laura is the best for the price car in this set. Adding the *** and ownership aspects back in to the equation, the Corolla Altis is the winner, no competition!

Voted for Toyota Corolla Altis.

1) Civic : Nice car to drive, relatively low FE, poor bottom end, too low and GC issues, not so large boot, Honda service + spares cost not the best.

2) Altis : Good car, good FE, nice motor that has grunt almost in the entire revv range, higher VFM, practical buy.

3) Cruze : Comes close, but..irritating turbolog ( this is main reason why it lost ), space not the best, expected IRS after Optra, overdone interior styling ( I prefer simple straight forward instrument panel like Baleno ), GC can be issue.

4) Laura : Competition has moved on. Old diesel, reports of oil drinking habits of 1.9D, not the best VFM, quality a suspect now, high cost of spares.

5) Jetta : overpriced IMO, old powerplants, GC an issue, high cost of spares.

My vote goes to civic. Great engine, great grearbox, and good handling. It has the ability to paste a smile on your face everytime you drive it or even when you look at it.

Cruze for me - The best bang for buck. next preference the toyota altis for the proven toyota engine. The honda engine also equals the toyota but i prefer the looks of the altis over the CIVIC.

It's the Japs vs the American

Guess there are more Jap and American favourites here . Guess most of you didn't choose the Laura on the @$$ front which was excluded anyways from this poll.
