Is Swift Mileage 8-9 kmpl ??

I have heard that the much hyped and awaited Swift gives only about 8-9 kmpl. Is that true ?

Great mileage. Maruthi engineers will love to see and interact you if they come to know this. Certainly it would be a pleasant surprise for them.

Please post your driving style. I hope you don't use neutral often and don't drive like driving for a mileage contest.

The next time you hear that, please ask how the FE is being measured.

I don't think Swift gives such a bad milage figure, according to the reviews of the car its much more than that around 11-14kmpl.

My swift's done 600 kms now and it's given me around 14 kmpl with my first tankful (45 litres). This is the mileage for inside city with the AC on.

Shobit, you probably should have named the thread as "Swift mileage". With current title, it gives a notion that Swift gives 9-10 kmpl. I am sure, that is not the case.

I would like to add myself in the list to surprise Maruti Engineers as my SWIFT gives me a mileage of minimum 13 kmpl ( sometimes 14) with 100% ac on.

Iam a new learner & I maintain speeds between 20-80 KMPH throughout.

My results with the swift have not been so great as some of you guys quote.

I get around 11-13 in the city. 13 only once.

And the recent jaunt on the highway for <200Km one way got me around 15.

where do you live dude- and how do you drive. Those are phenomenal figures.. Do you always drive below the 2-2.5K RPM figure? Maybe you shd take it up with the OD guys

EDIT: The baleno that my DAD uses gave 13.8 in the city(100% AC) for it's very first 500 Km..

..he he... i bet the figure wud have been much lower had i been driving it more.

Ditto

My Swift VXi has clocked about 1700 kms on the odo.
I get between 11.8 to 12.4 kmpl

Driving style
90% of dense City driving with few instances of notching to the fourth. Top speeds 65. Always change gears between 1500 to 2000 revs. AC on all the times.
10% normal city driving with speeds of 80~100. Same, gear changes as above. AC on all the times.

Fuel
Speed till now but last tankful was of regular and intend to do so for the next 2 times as well and then to Speed for one tank and revert to this cycling.

BTW, have heard a lot of remarks, mostly negative, when people ask the FE and I say "11.5 to 12". The general felling is - "Oh how terrible! We thought a Maruti will give at least 14~15."
And make them all millionaires by saving the 2 kmpl and later proceed to buy themselves a pet Elephant (as shown in the TV ad ).

Cheers
