How can they test new cars with different bodies and chasis. Engines and gear box and some other internal parts can be tested no doubt. The Chasis and the other parts that holds the structure together also matters doesnt it.

From the teaser video, the shape seems conservative in terms of styling including the tail lamps.

I was under the impression that Yaris in both forms of hatchback and Sedan would be thr ones.

If it is a first for India and then for world, I am sure they would have done some survey and made the car dimensions bigger to suit Indian tastes.

The Sedan version would be a good bet IMO and any pricing around 6.5 to 7 Lakhs with decent specs would be what would help Toyota make inroads.

The teaser video shows glimpse of tail lamps. Why does it resemble Dzire's?

I think this will actually be the equivalent to Vios, but more for the BRIC nations.

Also found this link on the website:

Toyota takes aim at low-end markets (Entry Family Car : EFC) in China, Thailand in 2012-2013 — AUTOinCAR

Although pretty old but can the Sirion come to India?

Surprising that no one was able to get a scoop pic on this to be launched car from Toyota. It means they have kept their secret well. Hope the car lies upto the expectations. Quality and Service might be unmatched but Toyota must also give their cars little edge in the aesthetics department. They are generally too subtle and have no lines and grooves that are sexy.

Oh man that's not Yaris sedan!! May its something based on Yaris hatch platform? IMO this will be between 7-10Lakh segment.

I took some screen shots of the teaser video and increased the brightness, check it out.

From the pics it looks like the car is of Accent size and also have waist line similar to Accent .I am sure that they are having the front similar to Corolla based on th grill and head lights.

Nice work hammerHead. The front looks very similar to the Corolla Altis. Cant really figure out the rest.

The clock setup on the website is amazing, all made of cars.

Exactly waistline and even the Rear lamp assemnbly shape reminde me of older Accent.

Dimensions should be on par with Yaris sedan. Diesel variant with A/T will be nice surprise.

Made in India for the world = 100% localization should translate into effective mass appealing VFM pricing.
