If Chevrolet prices the AT more than 75k above the existing manual variant it would be positioned seriously close to base AT variant of Laura. The fact that Laura comes with an AT option on all the diesel trim levels and Laura easily has better snob value than Cruze would make things worse for Chevy.

According to ACI, Cruze Auto will come with a well specified six-speed automatic with tiptronic manually selectable option. The expected price is 60k above manual variant.

Wow thats good news... Hope the 6 speed box does not damp down the driving pleasure of the cruze. Would the turbo lag be lesser when using an auto box?

IMHO dont think 60K premium is realistic. six-speed automatic with tiptronic transmission is highly complicated and costly affair. look at the pricing of Skoda and VW AT versions.

rumors are AT will be priced around 15.5 lakh

Is the AT really coming or not?

Got a call from Kropex in Bangalore that the auto variant has been launched. The sales guy said it is exactly 1 lakh more than the manual.

What, 1L difference between Automatic & Manual ??
Any idea why the cost is so much high ??
When Maruti launched WagonR AT (Automatic Transmission), the price difference is around Rs.36000/- only.

well, its a 6 speed one with Tiptronic, so it will be much more advanced and refined that a Maruti, not just Wagon R, but also SX4 (which, i believe is a 4 speed again).

But then again, usually it varies between 60K-1L in Sedans of those ranges. I wonder how much's the price difference between Cruze AT & Laura AT now.

3 gears for the Wagon-R and 6 for the Cruze - so 72000 should have been the increase and add a boot for 28000 - 1 L - I am just kidding mate.

1 L is just way that bit high over the manual IMO.

WOW! 1 Lakh seems to be lil steap, i think they are making a mistake if they really want the car to sell or is that the reason why they kept the clutch of the manual so hard

Is it just the auto trans or have they added some other gizmos as well.
Sometimes they force you to buy some other things with an option package.

The car is officially priced at Rs. 13, 45,000 ex-showroom Delhi and comes only in LTZ trim.
Pics of the 6 speed AT box and AT badging, the only differences. No paddle shifters.

Sounds like a fair deal Sid, great find. AT is much deserved in Cruze, so we can now expect less turbo lag and torque steer (read : easy to drive in bumper to bumper traffic).
