Info on Baleno Headlights

I have recently(19.8.05) bought a new baleno vxi for 6.10.

I am not going for tyres upgrade as it reduces fuel effeciency(as advised by salesman at maruti showroom) but I surely wanted to change my car's headlights as the lights provided are inadequate.

Plus I am also interested in buying "Philips Crystal Vision Halogen headlamps" which gives Zenon white light effect as stated in http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6260.

My doubts are:

1) Changing my car headlights will void the guarantee.

2) Baleno vxi model has "Instrument panel light intensity adjuster" will that be affected by the change of headlights.

I would be thankful to somebody who can put some light on the abovementioned doubts.

as far as my knowledge goes im sure ur warranty wont get void if u change the headlights so u can go ahead with the change and pretty sure it wont have any effect on the instrument panel lights either..btw congrats on ur purchase and welcome to tbhp..which colour is ur car..and who says ur fuel efficiency goes down by upgrading to alloys,u just need to upgrade to the right size thats it..alloys will look cool on a baleno...

dude, you got a vxi for 6.10 on-road?

I was under the impression that the vxi was about 7.5 on-road.....at least here in Bangalore.

Hey Nipun,

Just dont even bother to think about the Philips Crystal Vision - Its a whole truckload of crap - does nothing except white light ! forget it - instead get a cut out installed and upgrade to 90/100 bulbs

As for your doubts -

1) Yes I think it will void the warranty.

2) The instrument panel light intensity adjuster will not be affected by changing your headlights

cheers

Yes I got my Black Baleno vxi for 6.10 which includes free insurance.

The price quoted was 6.48 which included 28000 of free accessory + insurance.

Bcoz vxi comes loaded with all the basic and good features therefore instead of taking free accessory I asked for discount on the car.

Initially they were ready to give me Rs 32000 on 6.48.

After little pestering and pressure from my side they gave me Rs 38000 discount.

This price 6.10 excludes registeration cost but includes temp registeration cost.

Moreover I bought my car from Gurgaon.

Nipun,
my avg is around 11.5-12 kmpl with a car that is 45 days old..and I have wider tyres (185/65 R 14) on the Baleno I am referring to...I do not beleive that there is a noticeable difference in FE....but the difference in
1. Looks
2. Grip
3. Safety

is very very noticeable...
