The RTO officer must have been high while registering the i10 !

Anyways, now you dont need to worry in case in future you are getting an after market boot for your hatch !

Also see if you have paid the RT of a SEDAN

My say, correct it, and asap !

RTO does have a classification for hatch back. My Palio MJD's RC book says so. It is registered in Bangalore East.

Wow nice find anshuman, hadnt seen it before. I didnt know RTO could remap the ecu and add enough performance mods to achieve this.

@Mr.Bangalore : this again proves that your hatch being registered as a Sedan is pretty fine.

Here in Mumbai also, for my friend's Premier Padmini 137D; RTO officials have shown 145 HP, where the actual power of car is 45 HP.
These guys really don't have any knowledge about vehicles, engine capacity, power output, segment to which a car belongs.

Writing 145 instead of 45 is justifiable, but writing 245 instead of 112, beats me.

My dealer tells me that my Ritz's category is marked as 'Other' and he has sent it for correction. I am still awaiting my RC book.

The simplest thing to do would be ask a couple of i10 owners in Bangalore on this forum on what's stated on their RC book.

I have a similar problem. When I signed my RTO registration form I noticed my i20 was checked as a "sedan" on the form. Told them to correct this, and the sales rep said that's alright she'll correct it. My smart card arrived a week back, and the damn thing says my car is a sedan. I'm so sick of the dealership's stupidity and laidback attitude that I am not inclined to deal with them again. Do I have to?

one more i10 registered in Nov 09 as "5 door"

now what should i do i am really confuse?

If I was in your shoes, I would have got it changed no matter what assurances the dealer gives me.

You never know, if at all god forbid you have a trouble with the vehicle and only to find the guy who promised and sold the vehicle might no longer be working with them.

Get it done when the iron is hot.

My i10 registered in Sep'09 at Electronic City (Bangalore) RTO has the same issue. They printed 'Seadan' and for my friend Ritz it is Saloon. Didn't give much attention to it. Should we go for a change or leave it ?

Generally, the RTO's must be using a software to update the details. Either there is no maintenance done for the dropdown value where Sedan/Hatchback can be selected or by default Sedan will appear initially..the operator may be just careless to select a different value.

Anyways, you are getting best of both worlds..riding a hatchback and classified as Sedan;-}

Anyways, to the topic. It doesn't really matter much. My Estilo was Vxi [Non-ABS] variant. The RC book had Vxi ABS written on it. Moreover, it was registered as a saloon. Even when I sent the RC back to the RTO stating the problems, they only rectified the ABS thing.

Don't worry. Just enjoy your car. I don't see any problems arising out of this. If anyone knows, what problems may arise if the RC doesn't state the right info?

I haven't received the RC book for my Ritz yet, but the Road Tax receipt I have received says "Saloon" for Ritz.
