My rationale - there is lots of parts & components sharing in the two cars, especially the front half. With new Swift bigger in dimension, it would make sense to do so in Dzire as well.
This is because, the above practice helps the manufacturers to reduce cost & increase profits. Further, it would help in optimization of supply inventory of parts & spares, both at the vendor & dealer end.

Thank you fz_rider for the nice pictures.
Luggage capacity : 211 litres! Wow, it is a gross error. Suzuki should have extended the length up to 4m and given a slightly bigger boot. In the process, the wheelbase also could get some extension to maintain the proportions. Small Indian families would have found it attractive. Again neglect for the Indian tastes!
Rear design is fully swiftish and no renault inspiration visible in the side profile.
Few people commented that the rear is i20 like. I feel the otherwise, I20 has swift lines embedded in it (chicken or egg first?).

Just an observation:
We yell out aloud when Indica changes to Indica vista with more or less the same design genes though it is an entirely new car, but are reasonably ok with Swift doing the same.
The Indica looks in their times were cutting edge and it did sell in large numbers just as the swift has done later, but our (indian public) attitude towards the design changes are quite different and biased.
