Are you sure ? The size is visibly larger than the current swift we have. There will be increase in space too. Like I mentioned earlier also, Suzuki has plans to launch the next generation Swift in US also. US is in recession and their obsession with heavy and big vehicles is getting lower.
The success of smaller models like Jazz, SX4, etc. made suzuki realize their mistake of not launching the present Swift in US.

Where will SX4 go ? And we are also expecting Kizashi sedan that will be around 10-12 lakhs. If Suzuki is mad enough to price this car around 7-9 lakh rupees, not only the SX4 will be hurt, people will ask the question : A big sedan for almost the same money ? ".

I suggest we reserve our judgements till the uncamoflauged looks are available to us. There is no denying the fact that Swift looks good and this has contributed to the success of Swift. This new generation Swift will be having an evolution of the design present Swift carries.

who said anything about a "thud"? I didn't bring any other manufacturer into the picture - i was saying they should improve themselves.

But if you are bringing a comparison, i would say compared to a car like - i10. Well built, no rattles and squeaks. I believe they have no spare problems and reliability issues either.

probably we are going OT. I would stop here.

Hope they launch this with the swift sport engine and not the same old 1.3.
Any idea on what maruti is going to call it. Obviously they wont discontinue the present swift in india.

New Swift found under testing in UK: (Don't know if someone else has posted it.)

Is it bigger than the current one? I think no, but the info on Internet says the other way.

Nice scoop!

Can't comment on the size without seeing a proper comparison pic. Appearances can be deceptive when only one car is seen in a pic!

you never know. It'll definitely be made within the 4 meter length bracket per India rules. its how they package the interiors that'll make it look big or not.I hope it doesn't look claustrophobic inside.

Yes it is the next gen Swift being tested in Northern Sweden. This appeared almost 2 months ago in the Auto Bild magazine (Infact April 2009 issue). It retains the unique design of roundedness. It is expected to be longer and wider than the current swift. There would be changes to the front grill, tail lamps and bumpers.

Engines could be an option of 90 Bhp or 130 Bhp and Suzuki may also offer Diesel option with 80 Bhp.

These pictures look so similar to the current Swift that this might just be a facelift rather than a 'new' Swift.

Regarding the size, there really isn't any point of comparison in the photographs. Perhaps Suzuki just had a really short test driver in the car and thats why we all think its bigger.

Even if it is big - that wont come into Indian market - Auto Manufacturers for Indian Market are known for their skills in cutting some good things to make the car cheap, at least for them to manufacture...

Looks good, much bigger than the current Swift. Should have more rear leg room. will take the price upward, and closer to I20.

Cant comment on the looks as almost every inch of its external shell is covered in that black cloth. Having said that, it sure does seem a lot bigger car than the current gen Swift and with quite an impressive wheelbase as well. Those alloys look like 15 inchers!

It will be interesting to see what engines power this car when it comes to India.

More images, though similar. It shows that A-pillar has a major change compared to the current one. Current one's A-pillar is fully covered by the door rim, but this one's A-pillar is not fully covered by door rim.

Some rather radical design changes. The ORVMs don't blend into the design and will have to be changed. Any news on when this car will be revealed?
