From the images it also seems the license plate is not on the bumper as is now and instead on the rear door. That according to me will not look good.

From the looks of it I think it runs on 16" wheels. It sure looks like a Swift to me too.

Let me dream. The 1.6 Swift.

The plate you are referring as number plate on the rear door is actually an object placed inside the covers to distract the viewers - you can see the same plate on the side doors also.

The way competition has gone, it looks like Suzuki will need these things :

1) Petrol motors :
Range of 1.3/1.5 or 1.2/1.4/1.6.
All of them coming with VVTi that can increase output. Personally I would love top end concentrated power, but keeping in ming increasing traffic conditions, the mills must have good bottom end and mid range punch.

2) Diesels :
Much more than the 1.3 Fiat SDE with VGT. They need some mill like 1.5 with VGT. 1.6 will add more options and wider range to cover competition. But placing them might be an issue, so the combo of 1.3 and 1.6 would be nice.
I would say 1.3/1.6.

3) Interior fit and finish :
Obviously I am referring to rattles. This has to be improved or rather fixed.

4) IRS :
They can come up with trialing arm suspension. Can help as far as ride quality. Now torsion beam seems to be the norm, but I would love to see IRS.

5) Space :
This can be a big positive in the entire package.

From what I have read, this car was about to come in March 2010. We can extend that to around 6 more months, expecting the car around October. But with the above points, I think the car would be simply invincible.

It almost looks same as the current gen-Swift, only a bit different styled headlights & taillights.
Any interior pics ?? Looking some what bigger in length & width.

Doesnt look too different to me, or else the camouflaging has been done quite well.
The headlamps and tail lights seems to be different though.

i would like to see black inserts in the Lxi and Ldi models or maybe in the sport versions. but seeing a VXI or ZXI with those would look not good. We see top end innova's with such black inserts which toyota offers NOW ONLY FOR OUR COUNTRY, other markets get the normal ones. I hope Maruti doesnt follow the same of inserting black inserts on all models.

Nice pics. Eagerly waiting to see this one.

I also hope the next gen dzire is designed keeping this model in mind. or else we would end up having again a design mess like the current one.

Also, would love to see LED taillamps in this new model. Would maybe be a first for this segment if Maruti offers it

Not much difference there. Only the indicator lamps are more curved in the Next Gen Swift.
