It's longer and wider than the current Swift. It looks more rounded too compared to the current gen Swift.

Inspite of making a lot of intent comments it is amazing how well suzuki manages to hide the details of their impending launch in India.

Looks bigger. But is this the swift which we are going to get with K Series engine before April 2010 to meet emission norms?

We should thank the US market for making this car bigger. This car would not hit our roads before 2010 end- 2011 .

It doesnt look that much different from the present model. From whatever is visible,it looks as if the bonnet is slighly longer giving it a coupish feel.

Then how will Swift manage to meet 2010 emission norms? Are they (Maruti) going to tweak the current engine to meet 2010 emission norms or are they just going to replace the current engine with K12, with no OR minor changes in design department?

I am planning to buy Swift. So it depends lot on the next move by Maruti. Please let me know if you have any official information. Thanks

Agreed, the body panels are more Swift like with the bulging backside, but the overall proportions look a lot like the SX4 pic you have posted.

Just MAYBE a modified SX4 hatch to take on i20/ Fabia, as mentioned in a different context by others, rather than a SWIFT replacement.

Splash/ Ritz was the official WagonR replacement outside India but here they are being sold alongside, given the volumes that WagonR generates. I feel a similar thing will happen with Swift as well.

Has anybody noticed the rather unusual positioning of the rear license plates?
Seems like the hatch will be either too small or rather big, which will allow easy ingress of luggage.Looks good nontheless.

well not confirmed but have heard a maruti representative on CNBC TV few days back saying that current swift would be detuned to meet upcoming norms, so same engine with bit tuned would be offered before all new swift enter our market.

The car looks bigger than Swift. Can it be new Sx4. The alloys looks similar to new Sx4.

Looks like they have not worked on the ugly ***. How disappointing.
Note: The opinion on the aesthetics of the posterior of the said car is strictly personal.
