I'm sure you would!! But here SX4 is considered to be a simple commuter car. Rent a cars and fleet purchases form the bulk of its customers. Whereas Swift is seen as a sporty hatch which is largely purchased by young locals.

Funny market this..............

This engine will be joined by a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine generating 148hp and a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which we believe will be from the K-Series family for Asian markets like China and India.

Another piece of information to munch on is the appearance of the VW group’s 7-speed DSG transmission on the Swift. This particular variant will be for the European/Japanese market who conceive the Swift as a performance hatchback unlike Indians who look up to it as a family car."

So, a lot to expect:

1.2L Direct injection petrol engine
1.4L turbo charged petrol engine
1.5L K-series engine!!!

But will all these come to India as well?
One thing is for sure. All these 3 options will never come to India since we know that Maruti was always stingy !

Looks are deceiving with the same proportion as the existing model. Induces the doubt whether it is a new model altogether or they are just preparing for the US launch. Anyway, swift will always attract lot of attention in India.

Wow sid ! Nice pics & thanks for the scoop !

The styling is definitely evolutionary & builds on the strengths of the current model.

The way the cars are being transported in the trailer, without any disguises, points to the car on the way to a dealer place. Has it already been launched ??

Does not look like a new model, just seems like a minor facelift to me.

as expected, evolution. every panel is new, but design is evolutionary. Think 2002-2008 mini cooper and 2008-present second generation mini cooper.

1.4 turbo sounds interesting. In Australia, they have the Swift Sport with a 1.6L engine pumping out 120 bhp! I guess in India, the same engines in the current line up will continue.

After seeing so many Swifts on road this will just look like another facelift. Why dont i see a key hole for the boot?

Wow! Great work scoop king! BHPians, please compare with the images of current swift in similar angles. I find that the bumper and tailgate has undergone changes. The rear door quarter glass also has undergone change. The fuel lid, handles remain the same. C pillar width almost remails same. Rear door dimensions also. Looks that the overall length may not have changed.
