Oh hell lot of models to choose from. I doubt where will India drive all these cars as we are desperately running short of well designed roads.

well said dude!!
Looking at the list of cars and thinking even if 30%of those launches happen in 2010. the following scenarios might happen
Many of us here + car buyers all over India will go in for new cars
Sell their existing cars to second hand dealers
second hand car prices will crash
sales will soar as it would be affordable for may buyers (first timers + 2nd & 3rd car buyers)
Hoards of new + existing cars on the already overcrowded roads
avg speed on the road less than 10kmph
More traffic jams due to construction of so called fly overs with signs "GO---SLOW WORK IN PROGRESS"
adverts of LAVASA start looking like a more realistic option.

sorry for going way but couldnt help comment.
Cheers.

Nothing from Mauti. I thought they were launching a new van replacing Versa and also SX4 D.

As someone commented, this looks more like a wish list than actual listing of launches. For example, there is no way Ford is going to launch Fiesta and Focus in 2010. they are right now concentrating fully on the FIGO launch.

Toyota HI-LUX for 20 lakhs, Are they joking? Fortuner is available here for 18.45 ex showroom. Not all the cars would make it on the time and price suggested.

This looks more like that list of cars coming to auto expo and other auto shows around the country. Its very unlikely all the listed ones will be on sale in India by next couple of years.
The infrastructure and economical implications of all these cars to come is huge and does not look practically feasible.
What is the source of this list?

Xener thanks for the list.
You have mentioned 102 car launches in the list and can any body believe that 102 car/car varients launches will happen in 2010? -No way
I would be happy if 10% of the cars listed will be launched.

+1. Thanks for the list. But i find the launch dates and prices to be over optimistic!

my exact thoughts. So many cars to be launched in one year. Even if 50% of them are lanched, indian car scene would be much diffrent than what we are seeing now. Lots and lots of choice at all segments. Utimately customer is the winner.

IMO, With so many launches planned, the manufacturer providing trouble free car and good A.S.S will be the winner.

If this is true, then I'd be waiting for Toyota Hillux badly! I do not know, from where I'd get the money but I wouldn't mind buying this instead of a house!

New fiesta in early 2010.. interesting. Ford CEO himself said in an interview last month that it would be in 1/2Q 2011. In any event, if they do come out with it earlier, its good.

Another interesting item is the Aveo diesel. Now that would heat up the competition if it does get launched

Tucson at 19 lakhs? Then Santa Fe at 20+? who will buy it?

Mini Cooper less than 20? How come its less than New Beetle?

Most of them are nicer to read... I dont think it is realistic. 5 new products from Toyota in first half of 2010? Unbelievable! Hope its true.
