4.Chevrolet Spark 800, CNG and Electric expected in Mid 2010 Prices are expected to be in between 2.8 to 3.5 lakhs
5.Chevrolet Beat Launch on 4th January also confirmed by SVP
[/Qoute]

Assuming these will all come to pass at this Auto Expo, does this mean that we can expect a downward revision of the current Spark's prices? I ask because I read in a thread somewhere on TBHP that Beat is likely to be priced around 3.5L, which is pretty much the current Spark territory.

just saw a teaser of a New Toyota Sedan on CNBC TV18

it said First for India and then for the rest of the world
The teaser image showed a sedan on the lines of the NHC style design theme
image was not clear

also was stated that it will be launching at the auto expo
I think this is the model which is coming below Corolla.

Eagerly waiting for the New Palio.

VW Polo,if priced right is enticing too...

Is Ford going to play the Figo card well?

Only time will tell.

But just hope that the overpriced and slow selling Jazz is hit with the YAris at that price.

Exciting time begins

The Auto Expo is over. The concepts shown/ cars unveiled. Now it's time for the cars to roll out on the road. The polo's and the beats's have made huge wave and now is the time to see how they perform. Do they perform or do they perish in the market ruled by the maruti's and the hyundai's. The next year and a half will be really exciting, moreover a period up to April will be most exciting as the BS4 versions will role out.The launch of EECO and BEAT at a shocker price has indicated that it will be market will be extremely competitive. The Aria and Yeti will open up new segments where one is a full size MUV and other is compact SUV both around same price tag. The year 2009 had dozens of launches and upgrades. Hope 2010 will overshadow 2009............

The cars that will really bring excitement are :

1) New Wagon R
2) New Mahindra World SUV. I am sure its not Duster
3) Alto with K series motor

Aria : A lot will depend on pricing. Tata does not have that good image to go above Innova pricing. Well spread variants will make the deal here.

Yeti : Is there any segment. I am sure that the car wont see off roading as many in India dont go for off roading even in SUVs. Next, what about engine ? They wont come up with 1.4 TSI which needs super luxurious fuel i.e. high octane fuel in India. The current line up is fading in the wake of competition. Yeti needs a good diesel, and only the crdi 2.0 meets the requirement. Again where will they place it ?

I believe the Yeti will find a market here, limited as it may be. The vehicle is car like in ergonomics and can also go off the track too. If priced and marketed right the Yeti can pay for itself in a niche segment and add to the variety.

I think there is still some time, as we will only know when the THAR is being launched, as LHD version will first be launched abroad.

As i said, it will really interesting to see how the hatchbacks perform against SWIFT as it has hit a high point with sales of 10,900 units during December 2009. These are its highest monthly sales since it was launched in May 2005.

Toyota AVANZA is going to be another game changer. Just hope they have good engine options in diesel.

So we are a quarter way into 2010 and I assume only 10% or less of all the cars mentioned in this thread have appeared on our roads. Where the devil are the others?
