The BMW Z2,audi r3,q3 is still i guess at drawing stage.Audi A1 and A-class in india?doubt that.
Honda tif is supposed to be the new small honda?
And citroen in early 2010?the plant is yet to be constructed!!
The VW UP is expected not before 2011.

Sweet line up this is! By the looks of it, we can expect a major change in the variety of cars available in the Indian market. if the pricing is right (in each segment), this would provide a good platform for growth for the common Indian consumer,with being able to afford a better model/make for a bit more money.Good variety would make the competition even better!

And I thought these were limited editions and must have been sold even before the production began. Can somebody correct me on this?

Not that I can afford it, but the car I am most looking forward to from the list is the 152 hp Mitsubishi Lancer. I have been waiting for ever for the Indian market to break the 150hp barrier for under 10 lakhs. I'll only believe it when I see it

And if Citroen comes with models all the way to C6, why not the C3 that is the most happening segment here in India?

The Tata Safari replacement was also originally expected in 2011. As far as the published list from NDTV goes, I would be surprised even if 10% of those "car launches" mentioned really happen within the next 5 years.

Toyota :
1) If Corolla diesel is 1.4, then they will not be in a position to sell many diesels. Considering Cruze, I think Toyota should come up with 2.2,170 bhp diesel. I think that eventually we will be getting a 2.0 diesel unit.
Earlier Toyota had planned to install 1.4D with 100 horses. That 1.4D altis is a bad idea IMHO. Also toyota was talking that mounting that 1.4 needs some work.

2 and 3) Are we dreaming, sorry, day dreaming ? If Yaris comes with that price, its going to get tough for Jazz. Although they will need diesel power against i20 and Fabia. Instead of putting 1.4D in Altis, they must put this unit in yaris. Will sell well.

4) I heard that Avanza is available only with petrol engine. This wont be good IMHO.

VW

Internationally, VW is people's car. For India, its " Auto für die Reichen " i.e. Car for the Rich.
1) Phaeton was withdrawn from US due to poor sales as VW was a budget brand. In India " DAS Auto " is trying to sell the same car. I think it will get success as VW is a big and high brand in India.

2) The case of Polo, Polo Sedan and Golf.
a) Polo is coming to India for Rs. 4-6.5 lakh.
b) Polo sedan is coming in with price tag of Rs. 7.5 lakh.
c) Golf ? Now where will this car go ?

Hopefully VW will not face problems with petrol units as they did with Fabia. What's the point of specially mentioning that we have worked upon engine so that it does face issue with fuel ? Everybody does that, not only VW.

Mitsubishi.
1) Nothing is going to happen.
2) They are not going to launch any new car.
Think of it, Lancer was head on with G1HC. From there on, Mitsubishi went into sleep mode. They got a very good start others can just dream of, but still they messed up.
I am not expecting anything from them. Lancer came out in 2007 and we are getting that in late 2010. Bad, and competition has caught up.

Nissan.
1 and 2) I hope they manage to keep up the pricing.
5) Quahqai has a nice pricing. Is this CBU ? Powerplants ?

Tata.
What, Indicruz starting at Rs. 3.5 ? With that 2.2D ? God, if this is true, then even sedans will be along with the original sedan hitter, Xylo.

Citroen.
I hope they dont end up in this market if they are coming here as CBU cars. Just dont come with inflated price tags.

Fiat.
GP needs 90 hp Linea diesel unit. Any news on that ?
Linea 1.6 petrol looks overpriced IMHO. There it has to battle more accomplished cars.
Isn't bravo on sale since long as CBU ?

Ford.
Wait and watch. Not sure what they can dish up. New fiesta means current one discontinued. Or if Ford planning to play the Maruti, Hyundai, Skoda card i.e. selling different generations of car side by side ?
Figo is one car Polo should should watch out. IMHO, this car will match Polo for handling and ride.

Mahindra.
Work on dynamics and enignes. Putting up massive engine ( that is tractor derived ) at height gives bad dynamics to Xylo. mhawk will be a welcome change.

Hyundai.
Watch out competition.
But their cars above Rs. 7 lakh look over priced ( except Sonata ).
Did I mention that Hyundai is coming up with Copy-cat cars at Auto Expo ?

Honda.
1) For similar amount, one can have a 1.6 SX4. I mean they have to work on pricing.
If Yaris comes with 1.5 at Rs. 7 lakhs, this car will be hit badly.

2) What, City Diesel ? They dont have diesel unit for this. May be they will chop off one cylinder from that 2.2. Or may be they will come with entirely new engine.

Okay. Question - Where has Indicruz been "officially" priced at 6.5L?

Sorry, I don't buy it. Manza with 1.3 MJD @ ~6.5L now. How does Tata expect to price a new 2.2L with all spied goodies at the same price or even 20% more. I guess time shall tell.

For me, seems like a wish list, but I doubt if we'd be getting all these, Ford focus, Jazz with 1.5L etc etc. It's like day dreaming:Shockked:
