Nano all the way!! The kind of looks this car has will put quite a few 'premium' hatchbacks to shame.

Because it was not launched in 2009, though some variants were added this year.

I hope the executives from Honda see how they royally $%#@ up. They built a great car with awesome features and developed a new relatively frugal engine especially for the Indian market. They then priced it in the stratosphere - if they had priced it right (shave off a lakh) - I am sure it would be giving the Fiat Grande Punto a close run for the 2nd position. I hope it becomes the next Fabia - a new base model can be picked up for 5.5 but no one bothers to. It would serve the guys at Honda right. Oh - and the Nano deserved its top slot.

without doubt the Nano!
The little car with a bog heart runs quite well. Looking forward to Tata ramping up capacity and start selling expensive , full featured variants of nano.

On a strictly Car Only criteria, I think its' the Fiat Linea (MJD). Superb design, loads of features and above all a superstar engine.

I voted for Ritz, for the following reason,
  • Good engine
  • Great mileage
  • Nice build quality
  • Refinement
  • After sale service
  • Practical considering the price range
According to me this would be the order my preference,
  1. Ritz
  2. Grande Punto
  3. Linea
  4. Fortuner
  5. Cruze
  6. E-Class
  7. Manza
  8. Superb
IMHO, the 'COTY' award winning car should be a role model in all respect. From Quality-Performance-Safety-Price-Value for Money point of view it should be top.

So about Tata Nano, its more like a dream come true. Proving we can build a car at ~1lakh budget. But will you recommend it for some one you know, well in my case I won't. It is strictly my humble opinion.

Correction. The Merc E Class is an entirely new car and platform. It is not a mere facelift, rather a completely fresh design.

The Nano wins hands down for me. No where in the world has a manufacturer shown so much spunk, drive, discipline and innovation and succeeded in putting out a promise on the roads despite the ups and downs.

Hats off to the entire team...!!

+1 to Nano.

Its Nano because, its not just to prove that a car can be built ~Rs.1 Lakh, but for BEING the car which the competitors claimed it CAN NOT BE.

Too bad we can vote for only one car.

Tata Nano, without doubt comes first - it is going to change the automotive industry worldwide.

The fiat linea - it changed the company which launched it.

The Tata Indigo/Manza means that the company which launched has changed a lot in QC department.

When viewing poll results, the second and third position goes to Punto and Linea. But their sales figures are coming down month after month. They just sold 1008 vehicles (combined) during December. Is it Manza effect?

Unless Fiat/TATA does something on this, they will be the losers. Buyers will have so many new models to look at in 2010.
