I voted for the RITZ 1.2 K Series. Glad that I'm on the winning side!

The engine revolutionised public thinking. The SWIFT DDiS used to sell 70% to 30% of the petrol SWIFT and had a waiting period of 6 months. The RITZ then came along but with the K-Series. MARUTI thought that the RITZ DDiS would sell 70% and made few petrol RITZ cars. Voila, the public just loved the RITZ petrol. It outsells the diesel 3 is to 1. All because of a brilliant engine.

I have voted for Skoda TSi engine offered in Both Laura and Superb, this engine is just brilliant.

The other engine i like in the list is the CRDi engine offered in i20, Clearly the most refined, freerevving and powerful engine in the class yet one of the most Fuel Efficient.

Honda has introduced the revolutionary cylinder deactivation technology in Accord V6, it sure is a better compromise between Performance and Economy compared to previous gen Accord but they are asking toooo much for it.

I voted for the Nano engine simply because it contributes by being very cost effective, and yet providing enough power to make the Nano seem like a "proper car" in everyone's view.

I vote for 1.4CRDi. I believe it is a new engine released in 2009 unlike some other names in the competition.

My next favourite would be the 1.8 TSI. And then the 1.2 K Series.

I voted for 1.4 CRDi engine of i20. Truly an amazing performer for both city driving and highways.

My next choice would be 1.2 K series Engine of Ritz.

Voted for Skoda 1.8 TSI. Was in a confusion whether to vote for this of or the K Series.

Nano engine!! Come on, Nano is the COTY, but its engine surely doesn't deserve anything.

It's amazing how the car of the year varies so much with the engine of the year.

For me it was clearly the

1.8 TSI from Skoda for both the Superb and the Laura- taking the fight to the accord and arriving even before VW got it out here. It was a game changer.

The 1.2 K series from maruti is going to be a petrol mainstay for many years.

The 3.0 D4 Diesel plant from the fortuner get the job done and has raised the bar in the SUV's below Rs.25L.

And lastly the nano engine though seemingy underpowered is quite sufficent for the car.

Voted for Ritz K series. Changed the game for Maruti when the DDis was surging ahead in Swift and Dzire. 70% of Ritz sales is Petrol thanks to this gem of a petrol engine

I am honestly not at all surprised to see this engine fight it out with the 1.2 K series in the poll. So clearly a petrolheads choice (though I've personally voted for the 1.2).

It's also used in a 50 lakh SUV i.e. the Prado! In nearly the same state of tune. One of the best things about the Fortuner is the train-like torque from the 3.0 diesel.

Definitely the 1.8TSI! Looking forward to seeing VW's fantastic 1.4TSI coming to India in 2010, or else seeing the 1.8TSI in the VW Polo.

just drive the i 20 crdi and you will belive it how good it is , 22 kgm of pure bliss!!!!
1.2L k series is just another engine , nothing special about it
1.8 TSI is existing here from 2004 , but in another form of 150 bhp of RS , though hugely improved , but it was there
1.2 L jazz , not that fun ! its a decent one
@ V6 of honda , fabulous , but at what cost ?
so its i 20 thats the choice will be

Nope i dont agree here 1.8TPI and 1.8TSi are altogether different engines with different drive feel and characteristics. Both of them are 1.8litre and turbocharged but similarities end here.
