Not quite, I just did a compare, in terms of everything and the Celebration edition which is now officially for sale is nothing like the E6 infact its nothing like the E8.

I am attaching a spreadsheet to prove the point.

Its better that even the E8, the only draw back I see is that this one doesn't have ABS and Airbags even as an option which the E8 has.

The E8 without ABS and AIRbags options is priced at 7.8L and the Celebration Edition is 8.2L which seems reasonable for all the other extra's provided.

The prices are Ex showroom Mumbai. Got all the prices from the website.

:: Welcome to Mahindra Xylo co.in ::

Xylo

So in a nut shell if anyone is looking to pick up the E8 without options they should consider the Celebration Edition as well.

@Mods - Please change the Title of this thread to - Mahindra Xylo Variants Discussed or something similar. Thanks

Xylo Celebration edition at 8.37 L chennai Exshowroom price for this E6 variant.
NO alloy wheels. NO ABS & Airbags. Just Leather upholstry and DVD player and outside sticker job

By NOT offering ABS and AIRBAGS even as Option on Xylo Celebration edition Mahindra deserves Strong Condemnation

IF only M&M thought of Xylo with A/T and other goodies inclusive of ABS, Airbags, DVD,Alloy wheels it would have been a real celebration edition. Sighhhhh

The comparison on this site makes Mahindra look pretty silly:

Expert Review: Mahindra Xylo Celebration Edition | CarTradeIndia.com

And why include features that neither the Xylo, nor any of the other compared vehicle models have? :P

Does Sumo Grande come with a 120kw rated engine That is what the review says. That is CRV turf. Something is not right here. The pricing also does not sound right.
The Xylo celebration comes with a drop down DVD screen. I like that!

I think colour choice is limited among variants.

I am not sure of now, however previously white was available only on E8.

Hi,

1. yes it is available in that arrangement
2. FE is around 12 in city and 15 on Highways
3. Color I don't think you have much options apart from the silver

we recently happened to hire The Xylo D2 for a day long trip with family (~500kms)

It was a relatively new vehicle with just 22k kms on the odo
following are my observations

The cabin is relatively silent and no vibrations felt even in low gears and traffic.

The engine never felt stressed in the ghats and easily overtook other vehicles

This was a 2+2+3 variant and the seating was spot on with regards to space even in the 3rd row the seating was adequate though a bit bumpy.

Nice features like individual reading lights and centre light, it all comes in quite handy in the night when you have to find something in that huge cabin

The a/c is sooper powerful and chills the cabin in no time and the over head blowers on the second and third row help, they all can be individually slided to shut completely though after some time one needs to shut them down as the airflow even at low speed is too much.
the quality of plastic on the blower vents though was very flimsy and one of them was already broken so we could shut it completely.

Wind noise and engine growl can be heard once it crosses 80-90kmph

Overall I feel its a good vfm vehicle.
cheers!!!

thanks for your replays.

due to dads knee problem car is out, so our options are limited to mpv & suv area.
after using scorpio (1 year), bolero (2 years) we have desided for xylo d2 for its,
  • ride (compared to scorpio & bolero less body roll)
  • comfort (again better than above)
  • space (2+2+3 seating)
  • FE (mDI crde)
  • dual ac
FE matters because dad travels 2500~3000+ km per month. (that's why d2)
best offer till now is 6,74,000/- , with insurance & RTO its around 7.75L.

rgds,
Nikhil

It is a task gettin into the Xylo because of the height. There are no handles to grab too. Make sure you dad gets a feel of this before you buy.
