Spied 2010 Tata Safari / Indicruz EDIT : Caught testing in India! Pics on Pg. 20

I was driving at a steady speed of 120 kmph in my Ford Fiesta S, when I encountered this fully disguised SUV on the highway connecting Wai to Mahabaleshwar.

To note a few points:
1. Dual circular exhaust spewing black smoke on accelerating (Diesel, i presume?)

2. No photos of the front, but looked like Vista like headlights, with LARGE fog lamps mounted around the central grille.
Fog lights were not mounted well, since the entire set of lights looked like they were vibrating on the mounts (looked like a strobe effect)

3. Was driving at 120 kmph, but the car was keeping up perfectly. As soon as the driver saw me (curious fish), he slowed down. I was not one to give up. I slowed down too. Then he adopted another approach. He floored it! My Fiesta S and me are not easy people to leave behind, so there i was, in the middle of the highway, pursuing a disguised SUV. The person I was with, thought I was crazy! Coming back to this, as soon as he sped off, the car looked like it was accelerating/gathering speed very quickly (akin to a torquey diesel)
Also, the driver was taking corners with a lot of confidence.

4. The car looked like a NEW grand vitara/ new tavera, but could also be a european model, given it's absolutely beautiful shape. (more like the new vitara)

5. The driver didn't want any photos to be taken, which could mean that the car was very close to production.

yes it is, and did anybody catch the new ten spoke alloys all the prototypes have been sporting lately?

They look pretty cool, and hope they make it to the production model.

The new Grand Vitara is already in the market, besides this looks lot bulkier than Vitara.

i think the photos of this vehicle has been posted before. the photos were taken in sweden and the vehicle was being tested in a cold environment.

so i agree with rest of the people, its the same tata vehicle>Indicruz!

The temporary numberplate is a pune based registration and the vehicle IS a tata indicruz, great catch!

That's the TATA indicruz for sure. There are lots of spy pics on TBHP too.
Also its' MH registered ... means TATA/Fiat, right?

Quick question: This indicruz is for MUV segment right (xylo etc)? or is it the all-new Safari?

this is a tata as it is MH-12 & not a mahindra. mahindra sport MH-15 number plates.

I guess it's the new Indicruz. It's more like an MUV. Or maybe a crossover vehicle. A combination of the Safari and Innova, maybe?
