Sidindicaji, is there any chance of the Indicruz being equipped with the 200bhp V6 diesel TATA has been rumored to be developing. Even if ti is for export only

Wow. I'm really impressed with that performance. Right gear or not, acceleration like that is not something to sneeze at.

Sorry MODS for going offtopic.
Toyota Fortuner and Innova have significantly less turbo lag compared to other engines of similar capacity. The power delivery in both the engines is pretty linear with torque kicking in early. All turbo diesels have some amount of turbo lag. Dont expect them to kick from 1000rpm atleast in M/T variants.

Sorry to drag the thread offtopic.

Impressive performance form that car. Privin, please give us an idea what speed you were driving at that time.

I guess (taking cue from Sid's post in Indicruz thread) they have used that 160/170 ps well.

12 lacs don't expect to get esp and 7 computers and all.
I think the opp, TATA on their top model "Safari" has always had the same featured version available in India as in the rest of the world, so would expect the same in this case as well.

But then a 2.2 getting 170ps should normally imply higher fuel effeciency than a 3Ltr version achieving this. The 2.2 Dicor at 140 ps is does not have too much of a turbo lag.

Yep 160 bhp seems most likely. - We could run a contest to betting who gets closest to the magical power figure.

This ain't no 'people mover', people!

Any chance of this engine getting into the Safari
With 4X4 and 16" wheel as in the Safari - who needs the Safari (provided this one has decent ground clearance and the right angles upfront and at the rear.) Should sufffice for most modest offroading means. the hight of the vehcile at least in the snaps and video seems better than that of the innova.

privin - the first on road on the run video in india.

Clearly is the Indicruz - Mouthwatering performance is evident. It shot of into the distance in a giffy mid way.

Should get an order line up longer than the fortuner. (all other things being fine.)

Thats definitely the indicruz.Looks like the engine has got a lot of grunt and torque ,by the way the car pulled.
Wonder what vehicle the video was taken from ?

keeping in view all the specs that are coming out.

i don't think this can be place below 15 lacs.

i will be really really surprised if this is priced below 15 lacs.

the only thing that remains to be seen now is that will people buy a TATA worth so much money.

my friend and her family spotted one test mule and they chased it from belgaum to kolhapur. They where doing decent speeds, but she said they couldnt catch it.

Seems like this one is a real mile muncher.

Vow! If the Indicruz pulled away from you while you were doing 110 kmph, then she's got some serious horses under her hood ! Looks like this is going to be one heck of a launch from Tata.

I am impressed. Also did you accelerate along when the prototype sped off?

the more I read about it, the more I am convinced that the xover is aimed for western markets and for brand positioning purpose in Indian market.
