Not sure if at 69hp, this is going to be underpowered. The weight isnt mentioned but my Getz prime GVS tops 1000kgs , gives 66hp & 104nm@3200rpm (approx) and is definitely under powered. 1st gear only with A/C on while exiting my office basement parking ramp!

But the feature list even at 5.25lacs is just too good (to believe?). If junta can buy an under powered getz, this one is a sure winner at the price mentioned!

ABS+EBD and 15" alloys as standard ! Wow

Only glitch (is it ?) is the 69 bhp motor - gurus what do you think?

Thanks for the info sid.

5 to 5.25L seems to be most likely price range but if it is to be sold at below 5lakh, then there is no other car that can beat it in terms of features.

With a 70bhp engine, it should be good enough for the city use,but for highways I am not sure though. All the other cars in the segment weigh less than polo and have better power to weight ratio.

Das(Darn)Auto - WOW, again.

This price is a dream price. I think Polo would cost more than this easily. Airbags, ABS etc

Front fogs are optional accessories, not standard. Rear fogs have been deleted for Indian model.
Corrections to my post will be made soon.
The design of head and taillights is pretty ordinary.
VW has deleted some features like stereo, fog lamps and body coloured fittings to try and make the price competitive.
New price range has been updated.
Whatever the final price may be, I do expect it to be priced below the competing fabia variant.

Wow. nice scoop again Sid.
If the pricing is kept as in the scoop, the car would definitely worth a look.
lets wait and watch

I don't think this is underpowered, as the FE may be above 16 Kmpl. If VW increases the power, then people will badge VW as not fuel efficient car and may not come forward to buy cars from VW.

So I can definitely say that VW is targeting those FE conscious customers to look beyond Suzuki and Tata for this car. Once they make the name as FE car makers other variants will follow.

Excellent scoop again from Sid, but not enough as production ready pictures of Polos having TDI engine under the hood and they are not gonna launch it along with petrol sounds odd to me.
By the way I will book one for sure(Petrol or diesel) if they are gonna give the delivery before March 09.

WOW
ABS+EBD+AIRBAGS standard. Fantastic safety features are standard for POLO, definetely a Winner as long as the estimated prices are CORRECT.

Fantastic scoop as usual sidindica. Also, from pictures posted by madhokritesh on the other Polo thread, the tyres are Apollo Acelers. That should ensure good ride and handling characteristics. The quality overall looks good but the interiors do look spartan, but then again its the Trendline. Will have to wait and see if there are more variants to the Polo. but you can't go wrong at that kind of expected pricing. Also, the pedals seem to be closely placed.

Well I think the price is still an estimate until VW announces it. I think the Pricing will be 5+ lacs for sure.

Safety features looks good. Engine configuration looks sad.

Hey look at the turning radius & ground clearance figures guys. Definitely it will very difficult to negotiate tight U turns and narrow lane turns.
City of speed breakers (Bangalore) will definitely rip apart the bottom of the car, VW should have increase the ground clearance to 170mm.
