If the diesel is refined enough, I guess the Polo Comfortline can easily happily command a premium of 20-25k over the Swift VDI.

agree @ dipen but the VW exec said pricing between i20 and Jazz so evrything is going to be above swift. Once you start considering that the price would be above 6 L for the diesel version ,the comfortline does not even have a music system or a poew windows then VW starts too look too premium priced. IMHO For The indian consumer VW would have to swallow its pride and price it atleast along the price of I20 otherwise they may have another fabia/jazz on their hands

I know that most companies give the spare one in steel only, but didn't know that there can be a difference in size also. Wouldn't that impact ride/safety when running on the spare?

Well, reading through the brochure. In one of the pages where they have the Engine picture, it says Diesel variant will be available soon in India also. Looks like in Feb/March - we may have Petrol ONLY and couple of months later - Diesel.

No auto climate control even for a Highline? Even a Tata Manza has that!
And no electric ORVM adjustments even for a Highline?
No options to get different alloy designs?
No EPS even on highline? Who said that all variants were going to get ABS and EPS?

I think you are right, but its competitor the Dezire does. And I wonder how many additional features will make their way to the sedan version of the Polo.
Looks like Highline does not even match Fabia Elegance spec- Is there a central arm rest? How about Parktronic? I wonder about where the Aux/iPod/USB in is?

Guys, the Polo website(New Polo) is not fully functional. Nothing happens by clicking on Features, color, technical data etc. I could just download the brochure!

Its supposed to be more like an emergency measure for you to get to the nearest mechanic and fix the orginal full size tyre. But space savers are not new. Even the Swift had a space saver.

I find very less difference between base and mid variant. I would have provided ABS and Airbags as an option for mid variant.It seems VW is not going to keep up their words in pricing as said by Sid,which is similar to Skoda which said the price of octavia.

IMO, VW is going the el cheapo way. it sounds harsh but when i say it this way.i mean, not in terms of cheap materials or workmanship put cheaper pricing. I think VW has realized that they will have to keep the prices lower to get the market share they want! and really get the VW brand rolling in india!

i am disapointed because of no petrol 1.2 TSI. instead they are going to put 1.6 petrol (105ps). i think this is the engine from jetta petrol!. and god knows what happens to the powered ORVMs. or side and curtain airbags(every model of VW has atleast 6 airbags) and who forgot to put in climate control.(not even on the top end model?)

if they are not putting these features, i am just hoping that they don't charge a bomb for it! base model should be available for 4.4-4.6 lacs and top of the line should not exceed 5.7-6.00 lacs!

i say guys wait for the diesel!! this sounds great with CRDI instead of pump duse! and nice torque and "ground breaking mileage figures". i personally like the specs of 1.6 petrol
