It will sell in Pakistan as a Rival to the Suzuki Liana. not in India. this is too simple and in the group of last gen. Indigo/logan.

Honestly, the lines gel better than the Beat.

Really interesting if GM actually launches this in India.

Considering the fact that India is now one of the most prominent of BRIC countries, see no reason why this should not find a place here to compete with the Dzire and the already aged Ikon and Accent.

i think this is nothing but just the current aveo which we get, but with a new face.. just to keep this one in the game. the rest of the car looks the same barring the new face and interior treatment

I cant see what is there in this car not to like. It looks quite handsome . If you consider that it will be competing with the dzire, ikon, manza and logan (providing the pricing is right) you can clearly see that it looks way better than the competition.

In india for a sub 5-6 L sedan all you can expect at present is that the car is not too hideous to look at. If it is purely "plain jane" in looks ,it translates to
"it doesnt have any bold lines or shapes to make it look ugly" .

And there isnt a hint of the beat in his car which is a big compliment to the desgin team , if it is based on the beat.

That's not Chevy Beat Sedan as suggested in the title of this thread.
Its new Chevy Aveo. IMO this one will make it here sometime in 2010. Looks good to me, I hope they put in some good engines when they bring it here.

Good looks , but I feel that Gm does not have a good engine options for a Sedan. A good diesel is a must to give some competition to Dzire .

Will be interesting to see the market dynamics once this cars hits the Indian roads.

The Sail is said to be Shanghai GM’s “first own brand vehicle”. Shanghai GM is a joint venture between GM and SAIC.

GM India is bought by the 50:50 JV b/w GM and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). Which will result in GMI getting access to products from Shanghai GM, SAIC and GM-DAT. (Source: Overdrive, Jan issue)

As per what the article suggests (B-segment Chevrolet Sail launched in China), it is an all new car, set to replace or sold alongside the Aveo in China.

Like most Chevrolets, this might be launched in India, will make a bit of noise initially and then fade away.

SAIL looks like a segment below Aveo to me.GM could price them against the likes of trio Ikon/Dezire /Manza provided its got a reasonable diesel engine.Aveo has always been a looker i feel it failed only because of lack of diesel power and sub standard petrol engine when compared to its competitors. Hope SAIL makes it to India Soon

This car looks nice. Would be a good addition to the existing line up for chevy. Looks like a Beat with Boot.

In this picture, the bumper area on either sides of the number plate is very ANHC-ish. Even the lights are bit ANHC-ish.

But, why is the rear end, so Loganish? Side profile suggests very poor rear leg room. Anyone with rear bench photos?

Wheels look really tiny. But overall, can be a neater replacement to the ageing Aveo.

BH.
