Re: Which car does NOT RATTLE?

I can't vote in this poll as i don't own any of this cars.As far as my experience are considered my uncles Indica vista which has done over 90,000 km doesn't rattle but whereas my Wagon-R which has done a little over 15k has developed squeaks from the left side of the dashboard.I'm always extremely careful while driving the car and I don't let it crash through potholes, I think this squeaks are due to the inconsistent build quality that maruti provides to its small car segment customers.

Haha.. Yes, my Swift also rattles like anything. IMHO Baleno is the only car from MS that is better in this matter. My father's 2006 Baleno doesn't rattle after 1 Lakh KMs and most of this has been covered in U.P., the state with worst roads in India.

Re: Which car does NOT RATTLE?

@ Mods - If this thread is still active/visited, shouldn't the contenders be updated. I mean, this thread was started back in Jan '10 and at over 5yrs old, there has been a drastic change in the automobile industry since then.

For example, cars such as SX4, ANHC, Optra Magnum, etc don't exist anymore or have been completely updated/upgraded.

The premium products across the variants offer far superior build and dynamic qualities now. Ironically, there have been numerous reports of the once great build quality machines tanking of late in the rattling department. Considering the fact that many or most of the roads in India are 'Under Development' and there are enough new age car ownership experiences here to justify the thread update, ..

IMO, a new poll with some of the latest contenders included must be the way forward here.

Re: Which car does NOT RATTLE?

2009 Linea 1.4 -- It has clocked 60k kms and not a single rattle in the whole car, a slight squeak from the roof and that is it. It is a good built car.

2012 Vento TDi -- Have to hand it to Germans here, car has clocked over 40k kms and am still waiting for a single squeak or rattle. It is tight as a nut and drives like new. VW has cut corners in this department lately, newer Polo/Vento's are having rattles early.

2013 Ecosport TDCi - No rattles so far in 21k kms, used to have one from tail gate but promptly solved by Ford.

2014 Fiesta 1.5 TDCi - Car has clocked just 15k kms so its still new but nothing so far barring a slight squeak from driver side window.

Re: Which car does NOT RATTLE?

Of the cars I have owned and driven these are my experiences:-

1. Maruti Zen: Gem of a car but king of rattles. Even after servicing, there were a few small squeaks here and there. Maybe it is because I had driven it like a madman on the Coorg roads. That car can literally go anywhere, a true pocket rocket. My first love!

2. Honda City: I currently own the 2012 model and have clocked 53,000 odd kms, it is a gem of a ride. No squeaking, no rattling. Of course, I do take more care now of how I drive, but this car has won me over. Hence it gets my vote. I was hearing a small squeaking noise once, but realized it was my leather lap top bag brushing against the leather upholstery. So I can live with that. But my tweeter makes a weird sound when excess bass is given and that is the only thing which comes close to a rattle.

My 2006 NHC Zx doesn't rattle anywhere but bumps on all kind of speebreakers everywhere.
Munched miles are somewhere around 67k. A big thumbs up to Honda on setting the right tolerances between parts.

My 4 year old 70k Kms run Astar ZXi (sold in December 2014) did not ever have a rattle till the time I sold it off.

But then the gearbox gave away completely......that doesn't count as a rattle I guess LOL

Currently driving a Dec 2014 Fluidic VERNA Diesel. 19k Kms and butter smooth as off now. Not a single rattle/thud anywhere and mind you I have abused it quite a bit on all kinds of roads.
