WOW great pricing. Now Maruti should think back on Ritz. Beat is going to give a tough fight for it competion.

The diesel mill will have shocking mileage figures and will decent power/torque figures for city drives.

That should be another shot in the arm for GM.

For those wondering about the similar pricing between the Beat and Spark , the Beat is probably being priced at a special introductory level. It may keep this price for 3 months or more depending on the competition and sales. The price of the spark meanwhile does not include the discounts which all dealers are throwing in to sell the car. Mind you these are very generous discounts - about 50k without negotiation or corporate discount etc. If you negotiate you can probably get some free accessories in addition and this does not include the free services / consumables either. No idea if the beat is giving the same offers. Perhaps GM wants to see the reaction before offering this free consumables offer. However I do think that it covers all GM cars and it will be included to Beat as well.

My two thumbs up to the GMI and team working on Beat... Immaterial of the fact that the car succeds or not, they have surely put up a brave face. I personally wish them success in this venture.

I think I'd go for the Green a'la Transformers style
If not green, it'd be Red. Both colors suit the Beat's personality and add to the style quotient.

The pricing is mind blowing. That steals a lot of buyers from detouring to GM showrooms. Give it the GM 3 year OR 50K warranty and zhaakaaas! We have everyone else scratching their heads.

After having spent the day at Chevy and Maruti dealers, I firmly believe that the Beat is a better buy against the Ritz.

Cars a segment below (A-Star etc) are not even being compared here.

The i10 is a great car, but so is the Beat. With a competent sales pitch, I see it being a mass player in the segment.
Dude- why would i be biased? I think you are just making an interpretation based on what you like
I clearly mentioned that Beat will win over the 1.1 for sure. I have no reason to rationalize my buy pal, and wonder why are you mentioning the Ritz- i did not even compare that.
Lets wait and see and revisit this again- for any car to match 13K a month numbers on sales, it will take a lot- that's all i am saying. There is no need for anyone in fact to rationalize buying the i-10, just look at the monthly sales figures to know that it has set a benchmark for any cars in that segment.
I think GM needs to do a better job in interior space, boot space and also Sales and support to come up to the mark. In fact i am a BIG fan of spark, i was going to buy that except my wife did not approve and she was to drive this car( read my posts)
Also read my post on Hits and Misses, i have strongly suggested Beat to be a HIT for 2010...

Pal- just post your views, no judgments on people , thanks for telling me what T-BHP is, as if i did not know??
BTW I never even compared the ritz and 1.2 engine and never mentioned that 1.2 kappa is the best engine anyways
Have fun

The variant with PS, PW, CL is priced on par with the i10 1.2 Magna. I believe that the i10 scores high with respect to the interiors. Plus the 1.2 Kappa is revv happy ( not in the K series league though). i10's lower kerb weight helps in better acceleration too.

In addition, not to forget that the i10 has handsome discounts too.

The 3/4 feet long black plastic covering hinders the view at the back big time.

Is the pricing of the beat an intro price? Read somewhere that they expect to raise it sometime later? Hyundai may carry on the discounts now to keep up to the competition. Will be interesting to see where does Ford Figo fit in now-looks like a very interesting year ahead for the hatch backs and surely the consumer is in for a treat
