Fiat India showed a nice mix of vehicles lined up for their Indian debut on day 2 of the 2010 Auto Expo. Fiat unveiled the 110 bhp turbo-petrol Linea, to overcome its power deficit compared to rivals like the Honda City. The new turbo petrol might be a a couple of bhp down on power, when compared to the City, but it more than makes up for the power deficit with 55 more torques compared to the City. There were also a couple of Puntos on show. The most important of them being the one with the Linea's 90 bhp, 1.3 diesel. Fiat also showcased a CNG-petrol flex fuel variant of the Punto and some interesting design editions.

Linea 1.4 T-Jet Petrol:

Price: Rs. 9.4 lakh (On-Road). It will be available only in the top-end Emotion trim.
Launch: Q1, 2010.
Engine Specifications: Petrol (l4) 1.4L 16V Turbo Jet (T-Jet).
Displacement: 1368cc.
Max. Power: 110 bhp @ 5000rpm.
Peak Torque: 200 Nm @ 2500rpm.

Grande Punto Sports: 1.3 Multijet90

Price: Rs. 6.5 lakh (On-Road). It will be available only in the top-end Emotion trim.
Launch: Q1, 2010.
Engine Specifications: 1.3-litre Multijet diesel with variable geometry turbocharger. (same as the Linea),
Max Power: 90 bhp @ 4000rpm.
Peak Torque: 205 Nm @ 1750rpm.

Grande Punto Natural Power: CNG-petrol flexi-fuel

Price: Rs. 5.6 lakh (On-Road). It will be available only in the top-end Emotion trim.
Launch: Q1, 2010.

Grande Punto Trendz: Limited edition design edition of the 1.2 FIRE petrol engined Grande Punto.

Equipment: CD/MP3/FM audio sytem added to the list of 1.2 Active's list.
Wow the 200NM at 2500 RPM for the T-Jet Linea will make it super duper quick. The pricing may be a little off though as I think people will flock to the Honda showrooms for the ANHC. The 6.5 Lacs for the VGT 90 BHP Punto looks pretty good though.

toyota etios hatchback will be priced around 4.5-5 lakh and powered by 1.2 L petrol engine.
Etios sedan may be priced around 9-10 lakh (below altis) and will come with 1.5 L petrol engine. May be launched in December 2010.

@Sparkled. I think 9.4l OTR is quite right for a car of Linea's gadgetry with a turbo'ed heart

No offense. But are you sure? The current Model GP 1.3 MJD Emotion Pack is 7L On Road in Hyderabad.
And the same Petrol is 6.56L On Road.
So this new Sports Model is supposed to be atleast 8L OnRoad.
Could you please confirm the prices and the new features.

Does it get a super cool Sun Roof with the while color ?

Thanks for the information. Me and a lot of people have been waiting for the FIAT updates. Cheers!

fiat 500 diesel with 16 inch alloy was also seen
Dualogic = AT, so guess 9.4 L is going to be ex showroom price.

Linea AT & T-Jet? Confusing news, can someone confirm?

Is that the OTR price for Delhi? Seems to be close to the ANHC now. They have detuned it, so ANHC still remains the bhp king. But this car has more torque, better handling, and definitely will have a better 0-100 time compared to ANHC. And of course its much better specc'd. I hope they haven't detuned it badly.

I am very much interested in seeing a battle between Fiesta S, Linea TJet and Cedia. My guess is that Linea will leave the rest in dust.

EDIT: according to BSM, its 110ps (=108bhp). :(

Etios sedan is going to be Toyota's Jazz, I mean to say it will be a big flop if they price it @10 lakhs. Cannot give it more than 6 lakh.

Vibhanshu
+1

I guess its a typo it cant be true that the new Punto sports with 90hp diesel for 6.5L onroad.it should be some where around 7.5L i reckon.

That T-jet engine in linea would be awesome but then 9.5L for that is on the higher side in my opinion especially with AHNC in the same price range most people will opt for that instead of Linea

Now come to think of it 9.4 looks quite difficult for OTR price for a fully loaded T-Jet Linea and I wont be surprised if it crosses the psychological 10 Lac barier for OTR price. Similarly 6.5 OTR looks difficult to achieve for the VGT Punto as the current emotion 75 HP MJD Puntos are already near this price. Though I would love to be proved wrong here.

Is there a change in gearing for the Punto? Any idea?

The Punto 90bhp looks good but one can always by the Pete's box and..

Or is it the same engine as in Linea?
