Given the number of people mover version of ACE that I see on the highways, I feel that there will be many takers for this too.

Personally, I take share auto (yes contraption with 3 or 4 wheels and tin on top) to office many days and if I have choice to travel in Magic, I will definitely feel happy about it.

I am not defending its look, all I am saying is that for the target market it is all about Function over Form, for them looks is a nice to have feature.

This is taken from the TATA press release.
" The Tata Magic Iris, to be launched this year, is for public transportation, offering safer and more comfortable mobility for those who depend on three-wheelers."

It is clear that they are looking at Iris as replacement for 3 wheelers, Why do want to compare it with Omni.

In Bangalore, autowallahs drive an auto since its so cool and sexy! Their initial choice was Swift ZXi! But then the Bajaj RE came and choice was simple!

Jokes apart, I find the Magic IRIS quite attractive for its purpose. It looks really nice from front and rear quarter. I really hope that unlike the earlier Magic this does not end up screwed by our age old tax intricacies.

Any news on a souped up petrol Punto? Why does Fiat have to put a yawn inducing diesel in there?

Can we have more pictures of the Punto Sport version? Looks hot!
Good luck finding a new Camaro SS for $22k.

The ugly commercial vehicle

I guess that we already have at least 3 pages worth postso n the Magic. Now, that is what is called magic.

I am sure that when launched if priced properly, it is going to spell doom for 3 wheelers.

That vehicle looks sooooo coooool.

DItto for the Winger on display. Do not know how they differ from what is already on the roads, but the shut lines look better, and will fill the niche in human transportation between the rick and taxi.

Looks (or rather absence of good looks) does matter in the CV vehicle market. In that sense, the Mahindra Navistar trucks do hold out a promise.

And I am serious.

doesnt this seem to be on the higher side for VW's base version of Polo, considering the neck-tight competition in the 1.2L segment ? Considering Beat, i10 Kappa and Swift. But than again customer would undoubtedly pay extra premium for the VW brand. Lets wait and watch

a top official from VW already has mentioned that they are targeting polo to compete with i20, fabia, jazz etc.
so i10, swift, beat, ritz et al are quite out of the equation.
this is going to be one premium hatch and the estimated prices are quite indicative of this fact.
and also the upcoming toyota ETIOS seems to be targeted at the same market pie.
we will now have two kind of hatches in indian market.
1. bare bone competitively priced without much goodies made by indian and korean companies, mean for the masses (untill the GDP of this country increases 2 folds).
2. spruced up hatch, with all bells and whistles and safety features manufactured by german and japanese, not meant for mass market, mostly for urban upper middle class.
