Aria for obvious reasons.

Everything else is just ordinary. I was expecting :

Maruti Alto with K series.
Maruti YR9 i.e New Wagon R
Maruti YE3 concept
Kizahi hitting streets
New Swift

Hyundai i10 diesel
New Sonata hitting streets

What we got is cars like Etios that are yet to enter showrooms in Dec 2010. And Honda small car that will come in 2011.

This has been boring to say the least. All the big manufacturers were mainly quite. Nissan and Ford pulled out.

Not the best Auto Expo IMO. I am sure that there will not be any major launches in further days to come.
I think you forgot VW Polo, TATA Venture ( much better alternative to Versa or Omni). Also i10 electric as well as e-spark are good alternatives that are almost confirmed, atleast e-spark is. You also missed FIAT linea T-Jet and Punto with Linea engine. These are some really good launches expected in short time. I still haven't counted the XJ, S500 and GL350 cdi, which are though out of reach for most people, are still good launches. Also there were some bike launches too, the main being Harley Davidson. Quite like that.

How can you expect new sonata to hit streets in India, when its just launched in korea, where pre-orders started in Sept 2009? First it will be launched in UK and USA and then will come here or will be launched simultaneously in India too. Please don't get your hopes too high.
i10 diesel too hasn't been launched anywhere and expected later in 2010.

Yes, no news about new swift are a big disappointment. Also kizashi is reportedly expected here in 2010 with a tag of 11 lakh plus.

On the other hand, i was expecting Hyundai to atleast show New sonata and New Tucson that is ix35 to gauge customer reaction. Guess they fall short of expectation. Same was expected from Nissan and Ford as well as Mitsubishi. Looks like they are not interested in our market.

Vista alloys on this car?

Why do the alloys on the car look so much similar to the one's offered on the Indica Vista 1st anniversary edition? I might be wrong since I am judging them on a side view. But they immediately reminded me of the Vista.
White colour reminding me of the Vista even more...

The Eko price is killing, a definite replacement for Omni and might be a treat for Taxi owners. Hyundai is dissapointing by not have nothing on plate for the expo.
Aria in another great car from Tatas for our market. Hope Maruti's R3 is also on road soon giving a the customer a real tough time to decide on a better one in those segment cars.

thats because the vista uses off the shelf aura alloy wheels.
This show car probably picked the same design!

The International media highlighting the typical unique indian traffic in the context of autoshow.

caption and picture: AFP

Vehicles are stuck at a crossing in New Delhi on January 7, 2010. Excitement about India's growing car sales is palpable at the 2010 Delhi auto show, but on the congested streets outside drivers are less enthusiastic about the prospect of more traffic on the roads.

Just got back from the expo. Whew! The guards at the gates were clueless about letting the right people in - a few guys with business passes were allowed in, yet us with VIP invites were denied entry initially. The unruly crowds outside the gates that kept shoving each other like dbags didn't help either.

The most recognizable person at the expo was of course, the big man Yeti. I immediately recognized him from deep inside the Honda/Toyota hall.

Overall, the cars I was most impressed with, barring the obvious super cars - Punto Sports, Linea T-Jet, Kizashi, Nano male edition & the hyper black modified SX4
Biggest disappointments - Beat (the boot and interior is just claustrophobic), the absence of info on the K series Swift, lack of any news about the Figo, absence of news on any high powered petrol Punto for 2010.

I did manage to garner good rates on some car accessories and equipment from the vendors out there.

At the cost of being by VW lovers, I dare say...
the DC bus has some semblence of sanity.

Actually a neat work...especially the single sheet of black for the window

Would appreciate inside shots of the same from the Tbhpians at the Expo. Pleeeeeeeeease

;-)Just forget it is a DC work while shooting picture.

Khan, I really envy you people in Delhi, who are not restricted by distance. I don't remember reading anything about this black modified SX4. Can somebody share the pictures please.
