Seriously disappointing. I expected a lot better from Toyota, only good thing is 1.4 diesel and leg room !!! I think i would be better off opting for a Hyundai i20 .

Quote:
According to Kazuo Okamoto, vice-chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, over 2,000 engineers in India and Japan worked for at least four years to develop Etios.
And this is the out come

The interiors shocked me - most cars displayed on auto expos have spruced up interiors to make the car look better.
This is the exact opposite.
It looks like they had only designed the exterior and the night before the display realised that the car needed interiors and hence put in something overnight while it was still dark!!!

Extremely disappointing. Indica Vista and Manza look way better than these two. What horrible interior color selection!!. The dashboard looks too plasticky.

Forget the engineers, it seems like a cost cutting team of Cost Accountants came around and lopped off budgets for the interior.

The interiors are "Plastic palace" = the slab of unglorious plastic trim on the door. Yuck.
The dash is fine, done to avoid die costs for left & right hand trim.
Dies for plastics do cost a huge amount.

Cheap and cheerful is often used to describe cheap cars slightly better put together, but in this case only the word cheap comes to mind, not an attractive design and the interiors are off putting, as if Toyota just wants to get this out of its hands.

Can't really compare this to Jazz or i20, at least those cars show some effort and care in their design and how they were put together, some respect for the potential buyer, this is just transportation.

Sorry for being harsh but one expects so much more from Toyota never mind the pricing, at least some ingenuity, some imagination.

Even before i could digest the exteriors, the interiors are made it indigestive. The word "concept" is misused as said by someone earlier. If a concept looks so cheap with the plasticky and towel like seat covers, what would the final outcome be?

MAy be we were expecting more from Toyotas. All the 2000 engineers have to fired who worked on this project.

Yuck! That's the best they could do? They have the Yaris hatch and they want to release this? Thanks Toyota, India feels "privileged"

YUCK! BAD! UGLY!
i feel the interiors of my GP are way better than the one on the Etios.
Why could Toyota not just launch any of their existing models such as the Yaris hatchback or Sedan or even the small IQ?
Why experiment and produce a piece of crap!!

The beige bit of the dash looks as if it is stuck on to the rest of the dash, like a cheap after market fitment. Even the seat fabric and colour combinations look ghastly! The rear lights on the hatch also manage to stick out like warts on an otherwise plain jane design.

The Etios sedan is a Logan lookalike. Cannot decide which is more ugly.

What were Toyota thinking?! Seriously uncool car!

Very Disappointing from Toyota. This was one car i was looking forward at the auto expo and the concept car looks horrible.

It is difficult to believe that this is the same Toyota which has designed cars like Prius.

The front grill is smiling like a happy fool and did they get this from TATA?

What is the horizontal chromestrip doing in the rear? i suppose they struck the chrome strip which was mreant for the sides on the back of the car

why have they put a binocular vertically near the video screen ?

They have added body skirting for a small car !!!

the central dash with A/C knobs ( they have put old generation amby a/c knobs) look very plain

orange seats and orange gear knobs and orange steering wheel for a blue car

whats wrong with toyota? have they hired a few lunarics from asylum to design the so called concept for the world?

YUKK!! is the word
