Toyota unveiled its Etios concept today on the first day of the Auto Expo 2010 at New Delhi. Here are first pictures of the car from the show.

This is a little disappointing! We keep ripping Tata apart for poor sedan designs. Look at the Japs!

The entire car looks so disjointed! The front door looks plain too.

Anyways, hope the real one impresses.

the leg space for rear passenger's seems quite good.

this would surely be in the price range of polo, jazz, fabia, i20 etc.

japs are never famous for design at least not the visual part of it.

the are famous for functional design.

I think Toyota is abusing the word "Concept"! Looks like a cheap version of Yaris to me.

Exterior looks ok. But interior is pathetic. Whats up with the Seat colors? This looks like a towel which we use here in South India. Hate the dashboard and the position of speedo and tacho. Do i see a video screen and ACC?

Oh god, Is that Toyota? Why are they trying to ruin their image.
Look at the fit and finish of the dash. Looks like they have saved every penny while designing this one. I hope they at least don't price it like a bomb!!

The interiors are 2005 Indica like The air cons looks like it was designed by a nursery kid. Argh!

Thanks Dippy for these better shots! I like the overall looks of the hatch but the sedan sure looked horrendous. Also i hope the final fit and finish is upto usual toyota standards and hope they avoid those eye popping schemes for the upholstery!

When I saw first couple of pics I thought it was looking good. but seeing the rest I am disappointed. too plain back. Will wait and see what all are included when launched.

Beat looks like a cool design compared to all the cars launched till now.

Nice! Now even Toyota has kept the instrumentation at the center of the dashboard on this one. Can sell this in both right/left hand markets by just shifting the steering wheel.

Dont know why these car manufacturers do this kind of designing, it doesn't appeal to any driver when the odo/speedo sit at the center as if even rear passengers need to look at those meters. If it hampers visibility then provide a very small one but provide one on the driver side.

Excellent snaps buddy. Don't know what to say about the car though. Pathetic at the most. What were they thinking when designing the interiors? And I hate the centrally mounted dash. Tacky car overall. Expected more from toyota.

The dash is a strict no no. Even the Tatas can do much much better than this. i hope they fire the dude who designed that crap ASAP. Toyota, if you are listening, we Indians hate a dashboard with the instrument console in the middle. We get reminded of the Amby days when we see this. Just cut the crap and give as a decent dashboard. Bye the way, if you rip off that chrome strip running through the rear of both the sedan and the hatch it would do you a great deal of good. You could use the money you save on that to give us a decent dash. Theat's the least we expect from a company of the stature of Toyota. The sedan looks similar to the Logan and that is not good. The hatch looks more like a Daihatsu than a Toyota.

First Impressions: YUCKKKKKKK.. Looks like an ugly duckling, somehow the various 'parts' of the car don't gel well to make it a 'whole'.

Also, from pictures, the interior quality looks below par. WHY the heck do they want to have a center meter console:-(

However, looking at the wheels/wheelbase, the interior space looks promising.
