Awesome pricing by Toyota. Dezire and Manza will have real heat in competition. Also, now radio cabs can take the Etios in place of Logan

Very competitive pricing by Toyota.
This must have send the competitors Manza/Dzire/Logan marketing teams in a huddle.

whats the fuss about. the top end will be near to 9 laks or so in bombay. its not like you can drive around with ex showroom prices. tax and insurance has to be there. delhi prices might be good, bombay will be around same as sx4. its just another car now. obviously better than a desire.

Recent petrol dezire/manza/logan/verna must be beating them up.. if only they had waited a little while... if.. However, I see a very good strategy by Toyota over here.. where-in launching a product just before year ending when most of the car-buying happens at-times. Good move toyota.

Good pricing but what would be the OTR approximately? Also, what are the specs/features which would be provided? Any updates on them?

Pricing right on target by Toyota .

It took me a while to digest the Etios pricing, specially after looking at the expected price for the Honda Brio at Rs 6 lakhs.

from the webcast
for the Etios - 70% localisation as of yet. Engine & Transmission still imported...plan to localise in 2-2.5 yrs and then localisation % would be 90%

not sure about pricing concerns with localisation as most Toyota imports are from Thailand with which India has a free trade treaty so guessing no import duties

peace,
~kg

A friend of mine just booked the car today morning and the pricing has come as a pleasant surprise to the family. Its the G(safety package) variant that they have selected and the dealer has told them that deliveries should begin in third week of Jan.

This kind of pricing is just going to hurt the Dzire (with its 6 month wait - as 3 months is better than 6). Will keep everyone posted on the journey as things come along

The base version price of 4.96L is just an eyewash.
Who would buy a sedan with no power steering?

Hyundai i10-Dlite @ 3.58L is another similar example.
Has anyone ever seen a i-10 D-lite on the road?

VX is 6.86 ex delhi. Hence considering that ex Mumbai approx 7 lacs OTR Mumbai would be a little below 8 lacs
