Looks great . Interior quality seems to be top notch . But this cannot replace the Safari can it ? Its more Innova like than SUVish ?
Another step in the right direction for the ever improving Tata Motors .

Another thing about the Aria is that even though it seems to have a fairly high roofline, the seating position is very high. Take a look at the height of the seat here (not the greatest pic though)

RVM in detail :

And also did notice a crossbar jutting out a little below the car, though ground clearance isn't really too much of a concern :

Also, a keyfob with remote unlock seemed to be part of the package.

This is fantastic, simply superb, incredibly awesome. I think it was worth waiting for this one. Its stunning, finally innova has a worthy competitor. I personally feel it will beat innova easily in all area except er... quality. I hope it does that too though. But overall i am in love with it

It looks like the fully loaded top end variant will be around 12L, but if there is a strip down version costing 7-8L with out AWD, Safety features, then it can really be a challenge to both Innova and XYLO

many here are saying that tata simply wont price it above 10 lakhs.

according to me, AWD, 6 airbags & traction control on such a huge MUV cannot be priced below 10 lakhs at all! i agree tata has made the nano, still!

so either all these options are only for the international market or these will be on the top end variant which will cost minimum 12 lakhs. then tata will offer a base version without these frills at 9-10 lakhs & maybe a variant with only 2 airbags & ABS at 11 lakhs.

It seems Steering is a straight lift from LR ,but any way I like it because we could have LR kind of interior in sub 15 lakh vehicle.

This is a crossover product and cannot be fully compared to the Safari / Scorpio. All those of you who bought the Safari as an alternative to the Innova or Xylo should be a worried lot. AWD, traction control etc. WOW..!! TML has once again reset the standards in terms of providing the latest to Indian customers. The QC and the final product coupled with their after sales will either make or break the show for them.

Good Job TML. I am happy to see an Indian Company raising the bar every year .this is the path to any Global company .Every one want a pie on Innova's sale and probably this will do the magic .Although I think they can't take a sweep out of it due to brand name and quality ..fit and finish..etc..But definitely a killer in front line of competation .Every informed customer for Innova will be forced to check this TATA baby before sign the deal.
Kudo's to TATA and proud to see an Indian company emerging as a potential global player .

straight lift or not, this car has come a long way since that concept in geneva. TATA has definitely put to use the JLR investment

Look closelye
  • The rear differentil is still underdevelopment it seems. Though its a next step from Safari one. No presence of those roller dampers.
  • Mid body mounted fuel tank. Its at a precarious position. It the owner doesnt follow the breakover angle properly while negotiating bad/no roads. its bound to take a huge hit
  • Gas filled shocks...Cool
  • Chassis appears stronger the way it seems
  • Lower GC .. maybe in range of Innova.
Otherwise.. Rack and Pinion Steering, a good move away from TATA pesky hydraulics.

Edit: The fuel tank appears very big ?

"Lift" may not be the proper term since JLR is now a part of Tata. Shall we say "shared" or "based" ?
