Superb coverage, KF. The music (the sax part) was nice, unfortunately the car seemed too plain. I guess we have been a bit spoiled by Honda and Fiat and most recently by Hyundai too when it comes to exterior design of cars.

I was expecting one with an intercooler. Maybe they are bringing one but just with an intercooler and no cosmetic change. Maybe they didnt want it ot share the limelight of the newer sedan and hatch.

Why Toyota don't show more interest in Indian market.

Because they are acting as reactive not proactive.

If you like to see the interest look at Chevrolet they are really upping the game.

Toyota is in India from last 10 years and how many products they have here?
They are slow but they should get a big applause for the Fortuner and its pricing !

And, they should have launched the diesel Corolla.

Does Toyota have any plans of launching the Fortuner with an automatic transmission?

Aparth, they certainly will. But once the backlog of the manual tranny is cleared. I believe an AT Fortuner is scheduled for launch sometime in 2010.

Curvy Logan

they should call the Etios Sedan as Curvy Logan, Im sure there are buyers who dont buy the logan just for its plain lines.

Logan sure is spacious and praticle car but doesnt go down too well due to the cab like exterior...

Curvy Logan would be a hit.

Will TOYOTA phase out Corolla as its getting in the ETIOS ?
Its a stupid question but can't believe TOYOTA, after they stop QAULIS all of a sudden.
When can we expect PRIUS in India ? what price tag ll it carry ?

Innova was a direct replacement for Qualis (Kijang). Toyota did a good move by discontinuing the third generation Kijang, when they brought in the fifth generation.

As for Corolla and Etios, they compete in different segments altogether! Corolla will go against Civic, Etios will fight it out against City/ SX4 etc.

Folks,

Was there no mention of any MPV at the expo?
There were some reports of Avensis Verso being spotted in India.
Was this not brought up in the expo? Not even a mention?
