Master Stroke

While the whole Team BHP was busy ridiculing the Eeco, MSIL came up with a master stroke; the pricing strategy of the year. A versa now at 2.5 L is simply awesome. In one stroke, they have done 2 great moves. Upgrade Omni buyers to a slightly higher price point and secondly breathe life into an almost dead Versa.

Great move MSIL. We have all been outsmarted with the G series Move

Cheap scoops and two penny decals.
Why Maruti? Why?

gosh those mods are horrible! the do not suit the car one bit. when a company tries its hand at moda i would expect something small, significant and something which makes the car look better but retains the original look as well. these guys have just fitted huge ugly bumpers, some dirty fake exhaust mufflers and paint on the dash.

Oh come on! Some of the mods are quite cool. Go through the first page again. Surely, I'm not the only one who likes the Swift, Ritz, Alto etc. with the mods?

Yeah I agree , the Eeco could be a masterstroke at that price . Small business wouldnt mind a much bigger car at a slight increase in price .
Eeco might just be safer than the three decade old Omni .

Maruti Eeco !

I completely agree with nurni76. Not too many changes bought in the Eeco, but at that luring price tag I am sure there will be quite a few takers for it !

At the mouth watering price of 2.5 Lacs, it will be a huge success. It will be one of those volume generating models for Maruti. Omni easily does 8000+units a month, EEco will increase it by many more.

For someone who didn't even have a to-be-launched car on tuesday (Eeco was unveiled only later in the week), Maruti sure had a fantastic showcasing effort. Lots of cool stuff to keep you busy.....and a long list of eye-candy too (both kinds ). The Maruti pavilion was easily one of the most "fun to be" places at the Expo. Are Hyundai, Honda and Toyota listening?

I have been pleasantly surprised with the Eeco's pricing. Knowing Maruti, I knew it'd be a VFM price tag. But so much? Man! The people mover is cheap.
